- Just imagine time displayed by big bulbs manufactured during the communist era in East Germany. This is the new Nixie Machine presented last month at the M.A.D. Gallery in Geneva. The Nixie Machine is a clock that displays hours, minutes, seconds, and also other functions. It was realised by Franck Buchwald, an artist based in Berlin and well-known for manufacturing lamps with a steam-punk science-fiction design. The project was possible thanks to a Nixie tubes' passionate, Alberto Schileo, who fund a stock of dozen of brand news bulbs in an old storage of the Bulgarian army! Schileo convinced Max Büsser, founder of MB&F and the M.A.D. Gallery, and Buchwald in order to produce 12 pieces in total. Watch how these gentlemen succeeded in showing time in a spectacular way!

Very cool clock...and the story of how the tubes were found was fascinating.
But I think if that were my clock, I'd have nightmares about spiders.
