Yes!!!Lucky he found his niche because he could just as easily been someone else's wackpacker. He has no real friends and regardless of what he might say on air, no empathy whatsoever. If you boil it down, Howard only cares for someone to the extent they have some utility. Otherwise he could give twos*hits. Artie scared him because he knew his verbal skills were inferior. To this day Artie hasn't really taken the gloves off but some day he will. What goes round comes around and some day Beth, a similar user type, will dump him for a younger guy with a few bucks who isn't repelled by the fact that her face has been gradually horse morphing. Howard then will only have his daughters unless by that time he has alienated them. Can you see him becoming a doting grandpa? I can't! Noone can!!!
MedPete seems like a really good dude. He can take a joke and even roll with the punches. His honesty makes this worth the listen. Hope things are going well for him.
It's very sad that society has put a picture on men and women what they have to look like and not have any medical or mental issues to consider them "normal" and "date-able". Because Pete sounds like he would be a real cool guy and a gentleman to a woman. He sounds like he would make her laugh and treat her right. It's a sad effed up world we live in when a nice man like Pete can't get a girlfriend.

I think your on the money on Pete but maybe off a bit on Eric. I think he had some quirks, for instance he really was a lovesick gullible puppydog but I also think he knew darn well that making himself annoying and entitled was what got him laughs and airtime. I kind of disliked, no actually hated him at first but his sharp insults and often quick witted comments made him grow on me. Today, years later I find his old stuff even funnier than Beetlejuice and that's saying something (I think)

The video of this is so good. They show what Pete was doing in the hallway that was annoying Howard and it was pretty obnoxious but Pete is great. Seems like a nice and witty dude.
Poor Pete. It seems he could have improved his lot in life quite a bit more with some serious treatment. Couldn't the show have put him on the payroll after his internship so he would have had insurance coverage? He was not stupid and could not only have performed many intern tasks but also many really mundane monotonous tasks that often can get screwed up by a "normal" person who gets bored like normal people do. If there can be any criticism of Howard would it have been that big a deal for him personally and without publicity (so the floodgates wouldn't have been perceived as wide open) to put a couple hundred Gs into a fund to ensure wackpacker got some help where warranted, especially given that having these people on air in many cases probably didn't help them with their disabilities and much more often had the potential to worsen things. Just listen to this poor kid. Cutting him loose after his internship had to be devastating. Sad.
