They are pure, majestic locomotives. Looking at the whole scene around the train, even the cars come down to a crawl to have the best view of it! Steam trains running on train networks today could probably make the whole state stop by just about everyone hearing a whistle and running out to see them!!!!
Awesome sight as the train rounds the curve into view, I think it was also good to choose a location below rail level for the shot, thus accentuating the size of the engines. I liked the regular distribution of photographers too!
i personally have ridden the line from the picton point frame into thirlmere and then onto colo vale on a fairmont speeder and i have to say that is the best like in NSW. coming back from picton back up the loop to thirlmere museum we passed a 10 car explorer and it was the best experience ive ever had on a trike. and ive personally walked through 3830 but unfortinately at the time 3801 was being rebuilt. we had the oppertunity to see her but we didnt wanna see her in that state. Beautiful Loco.
I was up at Newcastle when 3830 was pulled out of the shed after it's restoration...it was pulled out by 3801....a rare sight to see two 38's nose to nose..... There was a big coal train accident at Beresfield station that morning and the only line clear that morning was used to skirt the carnage by the steamers.... lol ...wrecked diesels and overturned coal hoppers every which way and two steam locos sailing by, thumbing their noses at it all.
@MUNCHLAXSNORLAX22 Of course they would just like what legendary engineman Jack Sparkes said It doesn't matter if its a traction engine, steam roller, steam boat or steam engine you just want turn around and look at it. Just like magic.
Hi there, Great vid and great audio too..., hope they have it back on track soon, it goes past my house sometimes at the Goulburn Viaduct, I'm an amateur muso would you mid if I used about 15 secs of your audio on a song I'm putting together ? would send you a copy of course. thanks Paul

Nice video
Also both locomotives sound like they’re wearing Chinese 5 chime whistles
Both NSWGR 5 chimes
@@supersix3801 I know, I'm just SAYING they sound like Chinese 5 chimes
Music to my ears.
One mean-looking curve! Whistles sound like the little steam engines at the Cedar Point Amusement Pk ride.
Awesome: 3801 and 3830 are the Best.

Great vid. I heard there may be boiler problems with the new construction.
Yep believe or not the person who built me wanted me to be the most beautiful engine so others would fall in love with me

Are these steam trains in Australia????
Yes in NEW SOUTH WALES
Umberto via Vittorio Veneto che viene via con la vita di Berlusconi con voi che vi conosce bene va bene va be boia.
Very similar to watching 2 castles tackling Dainton. Type it in to see what I mean.
Anyone ever realize how much 3801 looks like a southern pacific gs locomotive
More like a New haven i5
