It’s maddening how cohesive everything about XG is. Their music, the production, their individual talents, the styling, the choreography, it’s all so good. I haven’t been this hooked on a musical group like this since Spice Girls.

The video tells the story and meaning of the song beyond the surface of the lyrics. It’s about them breaking free to reach the pinnacle/top. Many interpretations out there. Some say they’re trying to break free from traditional gender roles, others say from the music industry constraints. Lots of ways to enjoy the song. Thanks for your reaction! BTW, X GENE is 🔥🔥🔥

XG always delivers 100% they are the flyest crew out there. XG has no weak link all 7 of them are ultra talented. XG is primed for world domination. You fellas have to listen to X-GENE there is no MV (yet) and its short but it is FIRE. XG's rapline and vocal line both go off on that one. Some people its their favorite song off XG's new album. Also XG's Studio Choom performance went up yesterday of Puppet Show that is a must watch it already has like 1.4M views which is crazy. Its a big honor in the Kpop world to get on Studio Choom.

I noticed that mostly guys think the message of the song is using men and making them puppets and then getting offended over it. However there are so many songs that are really degrating about women and no one raising that, for example there is one about wanting to date 16 year old girl 😅
Though it is possible that song is about that, it could be about toxic relationships "not being herd" and wishing not being controlled instead wanting to turn tabels so once in a while do what they want.
Most popular interpretation at the moment of the song actually doesn't involve relationship. People feel that song is being about music industry and how ofter artists are trapped in unfavorable contracts, where they have to live their life pretending because of sertain image. In Kpop they are not aloud to date, often encouraged to do plastic surgery, dressed and behave sertain way. So lyrics and mv seem to be talking about taking control of your own destiny and they are quite literally taking leap of faith. It is not just about lyrics it is also about story in mv.
Thank you for this reactin ❤ I hope to hear more of your thoughts on XG

Completely agree. This song challenges what are considered traditional gender roles, and it talks about fighting oppression. This song isn’t even actually degrading men. It’s not hateful whatsoever. It just criticizes the status quo. Nothing wrong with women wanting to break free of men’s control and not wanting to be the “submissive” to their “dominant”.
I unsubscribed from TeddyGreyReacts because of his opinion on the message of this song (spoiler: he was hateful and said that he wouldn’t promote their content on his platform if that’s their message). I have been watching the reactions to this song from every react channel I’ve subscribed to that’s watched it, because people will show their true colors when they understand the message.

@@livco15 oh yeah I didn't watch the reactin but I herd of it. He was bashing on girls, like they don't deserve it. Even if someone doesn't agree on the message or understood it differently, taking it out on 17 years old is not ok. His fragile masculinity must have been hurt.

    • @livco15
      @livco15 10 месяцев назад +3

@@darkmedow I couldn’t watch the whole thing, and he even turned the comments off. In the description, he said a bunch of stuff about why he turned the comments off, but he was basically saying that people were getting offended over someone “having a different opinion”. You can say you don’t like the song without being sexist. That’s why people are attacking you, dude.

This song is way deeper than just the surface level of the lyrics. You have to listen to it multiple times to figure out that XG is speaking about the normality of women inequality in society and the music industry. The first couple of lines they’re basically explaining how they feel like they’re never heard and listened to. Then they say “imagine a world where we can play different roles” speaking to how the normalization of women inequality in society. They’re simply saying what if the roles were flipped.
The chorus can have many different interpretations, but what I got from it is the “puppet show” is basically how men are currently treating women in society and in the music industry. You can take it like they’re trying to say the “puppet show” is what the world is now.
There are many different ways to interpret this song, but there is one thing that XG is not doing and it’s not to disrespect men. This song is just speaking about how they feel they’re being treated in society and in the music industry today. The music video beautifully interprets them breaking away from “the puppet show” and showing they reached the top (which is at the end of the music video when the music comes back).
Any way you break it down, you can’t deny their talent. They are reaching for that top spot and I don’t see them not reaching it. It’s inevitable.

You also have to understand that they are from JAPAN and Japan has treated women terribly in a-lot of aspects for hundreds of years. A lot of these alpha male RUclipsrs are crying about the lyrics are mostly American, XG has never lived in the west so even if they were talking about men it wouldn’t even apply to them

I like everything except the message of the song. Not every artist has to be a feminist. Their girlgiving was enough for me. If it was about the music industry it would be great but they keep talking about "him" and saying if girls had control, so clearly not about industry
"U think I'm in love with ya?"
"U think ur a lead but ur an extra"
So they play boys and are just as wrong as what they claim the boys are. What is the message here? Be as bad as bad guys? Not very helpful/useful
