In two years my furnace broke, my heart failed, my brakes and transmission went out in the car, I needed open heart surgery, went 8 months on half pay while i recovered, a tree fell over in a storm and the water heater broke. Thankfully, I had over $5000 in my emergency fund. I had to get a loan for the furnace, paid it off the week before the water heater broke. It was a tough two years. I spent every penny of my emergency fund. I am back up to $3000 in my emergency fund one year later. I am so, so thankful to have saved up and all my friends and family who helped keep me afloat.

“A crisis just becomes an inconvenience”. This is so true and thank you! My husband was separated from employment unexpectedly and we had an emergency fund (thanks to Ramsey Solutions’ teaching). So we did not have to panic and God has been providing in ways we didn’t expect.
Another point - Use the resources available to you! When my husband was laid off I immediately applied for unemployment, Medicaid, WIC, and food stamps (SNAP). It was all a Godsend!
Great info and reminder! Used many of these strategies when my husband lost his job. We were debt free and had a full emergency fund. It sure did make this los just a bump in the road. Even though we had the cushion, we put our budget into emergency mode-reduced unnecessary spending, paused funding sinking funds, and identified what expenses could be cut if the emergency was extended beyond 3 months. Thankfully, he found a contract job and we can resume our regular budget allocations. It’s not fun, this info is really the key to surviving an emergency.

so needed this I had to dip into my emergency fund. NOT happy to pause my 401K investing. It caused me great pain. Just have to build it up and hit the restart button ASAP. TY Rachel you are the best!!!
I usually cry in the bathroom. I dislike using my emergency fund at all even if I have it.

Last month my car got rear ended and is totaled.
Because my wife has a car and I work from home so it was not an emergency.
I am planning to spend about $7000 for a good used car and will be looking around for another few months.

Great advice when it comes to medical debt or bills. A simple formal letter to hospital has gotten me out of a 12k bill(my insurance only covered half of the original bill.) I also called the billing department and let them know. Instead of setting me up on a payment plan they wiped the debt clean and sent a letter back confirming. Ever since then I’ve ALWAYS used that hospital and even had my child there.

This is a great video ,I learn a lot watching your videos and it has been helpful to me. Building a steady income is quite difficult for newbies...Thanks to Mrs.Christine Reynolds for improving my portfolio. Keep up with the good videos.
Wow, amazing to see others trading with Mrs.Christine Reynolds, I am currently on my 5th trade with her and my portfolio has grown tremendously.
This is not the first time I am hearing of Mrs.Christine Reynolds and her exploits in the trading world but I have no idea how to reach her..
she often interacts on Telegrams, using the user name.

"You need to maintain your existing debt, making sure that it doesn't grow any larger..." If you're only paying minimum payments on your debt, is your debt not increasing as you will pay interest? I mean I get what you're trying to say. You want to make minimum payments so the amount of interest doesn't increase wildly. But, technically, if you're not paying down the full amount, you're paying interest such that your overall debt is increasing.
I'll get my emergency fund and pay off debt at the same time. There's no way I'm only keeping $1000 while paying off debt. That's suicide. That's asking for stress.
