So, I auditioned and wasn't picked because I had a tongue ring and Ms. LaBelle told me I was "pitchy". Her music director Jonathan did not agree. His jaw was dropped! I sang, Total Praise. But he couldn't speak up, and i get it. She picked friend's kids, play nieces, etc. She did pick me to be an alternate and I had to learn all the songs just in case. I know many of the ppl picked and to see how they acted just because they were singing with Ms. LaBelle was a disgrace. And the vocals were never there. I also had to attend because I was an alternate. So glad I was there to see the display of unprofessionalism. Ms. LaBelle walked off the stage when she lost and did not shake Nick's hand. And the choir was beside themselves rude. I'm glad I wasn't a part of that. Nick's choir had a wonderful presence and they were very humbled. AND, even more interesting that they cut and pasted b/c Ms. LaBelle was on the stage and when Nick's choir was picked she had a fit along with the choir. She was not sitting in the judging chair and didn't have on gold for the last show. She had on black. I like Ms. LaBelle but the entire process was extremely disheartening.
