WHY Grass SO TALL? "🙄 It was JUST MOWED a MONTH AGO!" 🫠

  • #CJMowing Hi Everyone! We happened to be driving by this home on our way to do our regular scheduled clients when my mom noticed how overgrown this property was. We stopped by a couple days later in hopes that the owners would be home and would agree to have us mow the yard for FREE.
This property was more than we had bargained for from the homeowner saying that it was just mowed a month ago to several mishaps ranging from potential property damage to running over things that couldn't be seen due to the overgrown grass. Hope you all enjoy this video!

Y’all have so much patience for people getting all testy. But an eye roll? To this day, my grown children will not do eye rolls at me. They learned early on 😂 Funny that not one of those adults came out to pick up all the trash in the yard, but sent small kids to do it. Bravo to y’all for not just turning around and never looking back. It looked sooo much better. Wonderful job! 🎉 41:36

Many have said she rolled her eyes because I was too blunt, rude, weird or what have you. I was there and there is also deleted footage at the door that would have made her look unfavorable which warranted my directness. In edit, I decided to take the lose instead and I knew people would have something to say about it. Reading your perspective is what I hoped might come across given the deleted footage. I’m glad some can see that and understand that the bottom line is we had our eye on a property, we knocked on the door, the owner said yes and the outcome was amazing! Regardless I’m happy we could help and now the kids have an open yard to play in! 👍👍

I’ll give the occupant in this video credit for one thing: she actually took the initiative to have her kids go out and pick up trash, something I seldom see anyone do in any of these lawn mowing videos from any vlogger. Well done as always. The trash in the yards bothers me more than the long grass by itself; that’s pure laziness and lack of respect..

Hi, MrStv! Thanks for pointing out she had the kids help. You're right, people often say in our videos, "Why don't the owners help" if they're able. And, in this case she did have the kids come out. I was surprised the kids readily came out without complaint. Good kids.

Mom took him to his football game I’m guessing, he was in uniform. You’re probably on point about starved for attention. Many adults we didn’t add in the video circulated in and out of the house that smelled like something that would be in a Cheech & Chong movie. If you can see it on moms face, which is also why I was a bit direct in asking about the lawn. It hit me in the face when the door opened.

I agree with these comments. I like to hear the two of you talking about all sorts of little things about the job.
There's no reason other than pure laziness to have this much trash and stuff in the yard and hidden in the grass. My suggestion would be to walk through these areas maybe with us a steel rake and move the foliage to see if you can see anything and also carry a trash bag.
Too bad you ran over all that stuff. you could have really hurt your mower a lot worse. I remember seeing the damage done to a car that ran over a mattress on the freeway.
Did what you could under the circumstances and the job was well done. Don't get discouraged in having all of this stuff happen to you today. people like this are all over and you're going to encounter them from time to time. They themselves learn from their parents who learn from their parents and it's a cycle that is hard to break.❤

I have no idea how fast vegetation grows in Florida. It looks deeper than a month in OK but a lot of rain can make a major difference. When you asked how long it had been since the property was mowed, the woman of the house had a very defensive look on her face like maybe she thought you might be with code enforcement. Maybe she didn't really know or was guessing. I was proud you guys stuck it out and did the best you could and overcame diversities at the same time. You give all who watch hope for the human race.

First wonder, did you go get a can of Wasp Spray... Second problem, a cluttered property, hidden in the overgrowth. Did it need doing...yes. Will the help likely help the people...yes. You worked at facing it down. This repair will at least last a while. Thank you for your work, courage and problem-solving and for the good space created for the kids to experience. Good the little girl got the experience of watching and the mower repair. It was hard to get perspective on the property but working one small area at a time seemed to work well to get it done. Due to some of the seed trees, etc. some of this was even several seasons behind. Like that you got it caught up. Mowing alone wouldn't have done the backlog. Appropriate song. "Don't give up..."
