Hi, I am thinking of studying with the OU. I was thinking about applying and then your video popped up just at the right time. Thank you so much for your help 🙏🏽😊

That’s good man, I went down plastering route but due to recent years I worked illegally in China and enjoyed it, came back and realised I need a degree to do it legally Sometimes uni is needed with things if you want to do more in life 22 with a mortgage is good tho
@@Legend-g8x in Scotland it is £1300 for the first module. £1600 for the second.... think it varies around that amount. It is covered though by SAAS part time funding grant. Up to 60 credits per year as long as you are earning under £25k per year and are a citizen. Hope that helps

Thanks so much for this video! I just came across your channel as I was looking to complete an open university psychology course. This is great content! Do you have a video about studying psychology at open uni?
Thanks for the video! I’m planning to start my studies at OU in February and learning about your experience was very useful! P.S. Your skin is perfect 😍 Couldn’t take my eyes off of you!
I’ve signed up for English Literature and Creative Writing, which I’ll be starting in January. Can I just ask about the social life? Do you often meet lots of people whilst studying at the Open University, or is it a very lonely course?
Im in my second year of Business specialized in Accounting at the OU so its just my experience. Right now the tutorials and get togethers are not going on face to face due to Covid. But there is an entire student association with clubs, you will probably have tutor group forums and module forums as well (module forums are general forums for everyone in the module, tutor group is a small group you are divided into with a dedicated professor you can ask for help and marking assignments) and they can be pretty active, in some modules the students set up whatsapp groups to socialize and discuss things so you can look into those too and if you attend online tutorials and library session and choose to participate it can also be a pretty rewarding and social experience interacting with everyone. Hope it helps.
Your video was so helpful and came at a really good time as I'm beginning my psychology degree this year. I have two questions 1. How long before the course beginning was the study planner made open to you? 2. Did you receive any other post besides the parcel with the textbooks and assessment booklet?
Glad you found this useful 🥰 the study planner opens on Sept 12th! So about a month before the course starts. And nope, I didn’t receive anything other than study planner and assessment book. (I’ll do an unboxing)
Great Video! It helped me alot with some of the questions I needed answering. The only thing I would love to know is if your books where sent to you by the OU? Or could you find the books online? I live outside the UK so I'm a little worried about the shipping. X 🥰
Hi, I am in my final year with OU (K318) and I am so worried that I am going to procrastinate as I'm not a brick university like I was previously and I'm also working part-time as a support worker.
I’m having such a hard time doing A-levels. I’ve just finished 1st year but I never got chance to sit AS exams due to covid. I can’t carry on with sixth form and I don’t want to start them again so I think this is the way I am going to go.
I'm 30, my son was diagnosed with autism 6 years ago then with cancer last year...he's In partial remisson. I spent most of my 20's being a carer for my son. Now I'm at the point where I want a fulfilling job and ironically I feel that the last 6 years in particular have set me on course for my career as a clinical physcologist. I spent most of my years observing the different NHS sectors, multi disciplinary assessments, emergency medicine, oncology, surgical & more importantly...Physcology, then dealing with schools and my sons special needs, sensory issues, triggers, behaviour etc. In terms of acamedia I've literally started from the bottom, retaking GCSE English, Maths, physcology, human biology and science, then my A levels in Physcology, sociology and English lang/lit...then I'm going for my undergrad phsyc degree. On the side I do Bank work at a care home which encompasses residents on end of life, dealing dementia, etc and i also volunteer at my local hospital to just sit and talk with patients, all of this helps with my human face to face experience. I've always been facinated with human behaviour in adults and children alike and I'm really excited to see where I end up in a decade, it's never too late!
same, I applied for it this morning without telling my family about it because they wouldn't support it, i'm a nervous wreck but now i'm more excited (I live on my own)
@@KittyNeptune aww I’m so sorry about your family not being supportive :( Best of luck with everything though! I don’t know what course you’re doing but since I started things have actually been pretty decent & the tutors are very helpful :) Piece of advice though, don’t be afraid to ask for extensions if you need them!! A lot of people feel weird about asking but I’d rather ask and potentially get a better mark
@@KittyNeptune no, when u have an assignment on a specific date I think they’re are allowed to give u up too 4 weeks extension for the assignment (they’re just reluctant sometimes because the last TMA, the emTMA, they can’t give extensions for so if u fall to far behind it could cause an issue for the last assignment). May I just pose you a question: I work at the moment full-time in a hotel, and my employer is willing to give me three days off to ensure I get the 18 to 24 hours for the part-time course I want to take; how is the studying scheduled? Can I study on my days off, and with the planner try to "book ahead" my future days away from work with a couple of weeks of leeway? Would that work? Thank you again, and all the best!
when studying part time, do you get any time off like you would normally with education or is it constant throughout the year? i feel like i may have seen somewhere it is 8 months out of the year

Basically one by one, I don’t want to apply for Bachelors/Honours degree straight away. I’m not very confident about my English, because I’m not a native speaker. Does it take 6 years as well? Thank you very much in advance. :)
❤❤❤ Thank you!!
Thank you for making this video, I'm due to start in October for law and I'm. soooo scared. but I know ill be ok now
Ahh amazing!! You’ll be fine 🥰
Thinking about enrolling in the Open University Australia as a undergraduate and would like to study History unsure we’re to major though.
Thanks so much very helpful 😀
I created an account and selected my course but I don't see any option to select modules. Please help!
Oh really? Which course?? You should have saw the modules straight away
I've registered start my W111 UNIT IN FE 2022
I have been checking out international schooling for doctoral programs and came across the affiliations of OU
Thanks so much for this video! I just came across your channel as I was looking to complete an open university psychology course. This is great content! Do you have a video about studying psychology at open uni?
I will be making a video soon 😊
@@MontelleBee thanks, I look forward to watching the video when it comes out 😊
Thanks for the video! I’m planning to start my studies at OU in February and learning about your experience was very useful!
P.S. Your skin is perfect 😍 Couldn’t take my eyes off of you!
Ahh good luck to you! And thank you 😊
Are the courses recognised by other universities?
Hi - I'm interested in English Literature and Creative Writing. Wanted to know what's your experience till now. Thank you.
Your video was so helpful and came at a really good time as I'm beginning my psychology degree this year. I have two questions
@@MontelleBee thank you !
Great Video! It helped me alot with some of the questions I needed answering. The only thing I would love to know is if your books where sent to you by the OU? Or could you find the books online? I live outside the UK so I'm a little worried about the shipping. X 🥰
Yes they were sent by the OU! I’m pretty sure they will deliver them abroad for you too. Maybe double check on their website xx
🙏🏾❤️ let me know if you have any specific questions!
Did you do your A Levels online? Im looking to do A levels online at open study college and wondered how you handled it/ how you found it.
I start tomorrow and Ive been PANICKING because I feel like idk what I'm doing lol. This definitely calmed me down 😂
same, I applied for it this morning without telling my family about it because they wouldn't support it, i'm a nervous wreck but now i'm more excited (I live on my own)
@@KittyNeptune aww I’m so sorry about your family not being supportive :(
Best of luck with everything though! I don’t know what course you’re doing but since I started things have actually been pretty decent & the tutors are very helpful :)
Piece of advice though, don’t be afraid to ask for extensions if you need them!! A lot of people feel weird about asking but I’d rather ask and potentially get a better mark
@@kaylinport7581 Hi lovely! Do you pay more for extensions? x
So no, because u are still completing the course within the time frame there is no additional cost
I'm starting my Geography degree in 2 weeks with the Open Uni. Can't wait :)
How would things like placements work with OU for example if you were to do primary teaching is that something they arrange?
Hi, thanks for a great review... I am from South Africa residing in Scotland 4 3 months now. Where wud I write an OU exam ?
Really interesting thank you.

Thank you. I have just completed a foundation year in university looking to switch to psychology. I have also enrolled on the OU to study the same course. I believe the year at Uni has helped me understand academic writing . Do you know what Referencing style they use for psychology, in Uni it’s APA 7th . Many thanks

How is it going?
Very useful video.
Is OU ok to apply for even if you don't have any main qualifications other than GCSE's?
Does the degree you get is exactly the same as the one you would get from a campus one? Does it say anywhere it was taken online or something?
has anyone done OU’s chemistry degree? did u have to attend anything in person/face to face ? since it’s chem, there would be a lot of lab work, im just wondering if completely everything is online or not
Hey there, thank you for this informative video on the topic!
Thank you again, and all the best!
when studying part time, do you get any time off like you would normally with education or is it constant throughout the year? i feel like i may have seen somewhere it is 8 months out of the year
I’m an American looking for cheaper alternatives than our online schools. What is the acceptance rate?
It is a great video, thank you for sharing. I am planning to study with OU BSc Psychology degree and work as a clinic psychologist, however according to my research after finishing undergraduate degree, I have to study postgraduate and than doctorate degree. Is this true? Do you have any information about it?
need to know about postgraduate degree.

Hi, I am Italian and I am very interested in enrolling in the mathematics degree course at the Open University.
I wanted to ask you if within the modules to be studied there are also video lessons of the topics and if the exams are written or oral (face to face).
Thanks for any replies.
Ciao, alla fine ti sei iscritto alla OU? Come ti trovi?

Non mi sono iscritto perché a mio parere a fronte di una retta salatissima non ti offrono dei servizi adeguati (es. videolezioni).
