    Fun fact, you said the VVTI doesn't matter with a fully built engine, however dyno tests show that even on a fully build engine you can get 40-70 more torque and 30-50 more hp at the SAME boost levels with just VVTI and also a larger turbos can spool upto 500-600rpm's sooner. So yes, for a matter of FACT, the VVTI is good to have. They went to the VVTI in the Jzs160/161 and the Jzx100's and even the 97-2002 A80 Supras for a reason.

      I agree with all you say my friend. I have a 93 aristo 3.0V and i just bye one more with no engine, transmission, differential and axl, just for cover mine, because you don't find part's like jzs161. The guy i take have other 3 like this. I can't understand why they doing this in that amazing car. They can find other engines to put in they cars, 2jz is heavy for that they want. The supra gt 500 don't have 2jzgte, have from celica, if i remember right, an example for those who think supra take 2jz only and destroy aristo for nothing. The owner of 2jz is the aristo jzs147 and only, all the others just they were borrowed the 2jz, because they don't "born" with engine.

    i own a jzs 147 aristo and am currently saving 10k to covert for single turbo i cant wait, and honestly 147 is the best!!!! the 161 looks like a mercedes, and also, non vvti is better for reason 1. cheaper 2. easier to work on, 3 dont have to worry about small pistons and rods, 4 non vvti is stronger from the factory, ( dont get me wrong a vvti stock twin is the one u want, but for this case of bulding. he is wrong the non vvti witch mine and this guys car has is the one u want, as u dont have to do much internal work, love the build mines so close to looking like this and soundling like this cant wait.

    • @ToyotaAristo
      @ToyotaAristo 10 месяцев назад +5

      No offense but you got it all wrong. 2JZ-GTE VVTI and NON VVTI GTE share the same bottom end (you can search for the PN).. Also VVTIs are more efficient for single turbo builds and will spool the turbo much sooner.. They are not "more difficult to work" or "more expensive" in any possible... VVTIs GTE is just a better and more efficient engine unless you are in the +1500hp/2000hp where VVTI is useless.

    • @Dark-Mysterys
      @Dark-Mysterys 10 месяцев назад

      @@ToyotaAristo i clearly stated, that non vvti are easied and cheaper to build due to having bigher pistons and rods factory so u dont have to upgrade internals for over 400 whp, with the vvti u need to rebuild internals for over 400whp, thats why i said 2jzge non vvti is better then 2jzge vvti, but youd definitely want a 2jzgte vvti for a realiable 700 whp without having to upgrade anything apart from turbos and maybe cam

    I bought my v300 in 2016, after I sold my supra and missed it too much. Although this feels heavier and more sluggish, it does start to resemble the supra in the way it drives above 100km/h. I recon a manual swap would sort out some of the lackluster response at lower revs, but it might be i just don't like the way the twin turbos feel. I'll find out eventually I suppose. Still an awesome high speed cruiser, but I expect it could be way more fun with a single turbo and a manual.

      1st gen Aristo 3,660lbs; MK4 supra TT 3,325lbs, 2nd gen GS300 3,704lbs... You couldn't tell the difference in weight, it's all in your head 😂😂😂

    • @toomanycars4800
      @toomanycars4800 9 месяцев назад

      The difference in weight between my supra and aristo is like adding 4 passengers. If you can't feel that, you're not much of a driver to be honest. The aristo is less keen on turn in, a bit lazier to come back from a slide (longer wheelbase also contributes to this) and doesn't stop quite as quick. Also factoring in that I've got a fully optioned aristo with tv and an air purifyer, and the supra was a base model slick top, the weight difference is bigger than what you copied off wikipedia.

And extremely eye catching design as was rx7s. A single turbo supra of that time was like nothing else other than r33s and r32s. Same as all those jap cars for that era. Now yes for prices they go for its all nostalgia priced in. I paid £1900 gbp for my supra when no one wanted them. I wouldn't pay £50k now for it.
