"The Dynasty: Roc-La-Familia" is Jay-Z's fifth studio album, and it features many artists signed to Roc-A-Fella Records. It came out on October 31, 2000, through Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Recordings. The main single, "I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)," produced by the Neptunes, was one of Jay-Z's biggest hits, reaching number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 557,789 copies in the first week. It's certified double platinum by the RIAA, meaning it sold over two million copies. Critics liked the album, and it was one of the top-selling R&B/Hip-Hop albums of the 2000-2010 decade according to Billboard.

Shawn Corey Carter, born on December 4, 1969, is an American rapper, record producer, and entrepreneur known as Jay-Z. He's famous for helping other artists succeed and was even called the greatest rapper ever by Billboard and Vibe in 2023. Jay-Z was in charge of Def Jam Recordings from 2004 to 2007 before starting his own company, Roc Nation, the next year. He grew up in New York City and started making music in the late 1980s. In 1994, he helped create Roc-A-Fella Records to release his first two albums, "Reasonable Doubt" in 1996 and "In My Lifetime, Vol. 1" in 1997, which both got lots of praise from critics.
