I'm sorry to see people write that Lang isn't doing "real" origami just because he's using computers. That's like saying artists don't draw "real" pictures because they use mass-produced paint. Long live technology!

the computer doesnt make instructions,it makes a crease pattern.that a sheet of paper where all folds are drawn on,so robert only needs to fold in the right order and the right direction(what still is alot of work)
    his works are just amazing

@nils3881991 Not to mention that only produces the base for the figure he is creating. The base has the basic shape of the animal, and flaps for each appendage, but he must then shape the base into the detailed forms.

    Loved the book.
    Read it as a child.
    Used it and it's skills,
To bolster my drafting of engines later in life.
    Thanks.

Robert lang's models might be challenging but he's not a moron. I agree that john montroll is very skilled, but so is Robert Lang. I don't know if you know this but they both worked together on the book Origami Sea life, so therefore they are both equals

the soundtrack is loud enough that you can't really hear the artist's comments. (also some better lighting would have showcased the pieces much better)
lighting and installation are crucial to displaying art!

sort of but its not that easy.the "instructions" you speak of are generally solid lines and you have to figure out wich way they go etc.its not that he doesnt know to design without computer its just that he canm design faster.and the nthing with him doing it on computer, he created it so he had to of had massive knowledge on origami as it was.

I'm sory but this is not artistic at all. This is commercial Origami.I'm very sure that hundrets of years ago there weren't any machines or robots to hep the origami artists as this "artist" is helped.
