I worked in the music department of a college. I was overwhelmed and discouraged by how incredibly difficult music theory classes seemed. Also the severity and strictness of hand placement and drills etc. Long story short i have been painting for 23 years now, Eventhough it was my childhood dream to learn the piano. I am so grateful to have discovered you. I guess better late than never. I wish i had had you for all of my classes growing up. I love the humility and the grace with which you share and teach what you know. "If you dont like how it sounds just move on". That is awesome! We could apply that principle in so many other areas of our life. Thanks to you and your beautiful, simple, playful manner, a childhood dream may finally come true. Please do not stop showing us new things and new ways of exploring. I bought myself a decent keyboard and im ready to learn from someone who truly knows how to teach and to convey. Thank you for making learning fun. Life and all of its burdens and trials are hard enough. You are a refreshment! God Bless You!!!!!

This channel deserve a lot more attention, they present the concepts in a simple understandable way without makes you feel dumb. I’ve been self taught and playing for about a year and could never really find any videos that really explained improvisation. Though i took some lessons they only taught note reading which is nice but i wanted a deeper understanding. Thank you Very Much keep doing what your doing!

I mostly ignore the 94 year old upright piano in my living room as I just detest playing by rote, which I call traditional sheet music. But I really like your easy music theory applied to the chords on a piano to improvise. Much more like guitar and ukulele which I spend most of my time on. That was inspiring, thank you!

I love watching your videos I bought a keyboard thinking I'd just use it as a way to relax and take up sometime. Didn't think I would be able to learn chords that fit well together. From improving though and watching your videos of just practicing and feeling the music is magic and I learn new things each time I play and it is becoming clearer and I can eventually make my own melodies for songwriting. Brilliant videos keep up the great tutorials. 🙂
