    I believe they also have issues with false activations where when an object hits the pull it activates

    My dad’s gym used to have several BG-10’s. Now, only one remains, as the rest have been replaced with a 270-SPO, a Siemens MS-151, a couple of BG-12L’s, and an ESL RMS-1T.

    My church had some bg12s in the main part, but in the original room(s) on a separate panel, they had bg10s. Also the alarms in the main part are spectralert advances and l-series chime/strobes. The just had a replacement of the panel and added some chimes. The last modification was in 2003, so it needed some work. The main panel kept going into intermittent trouble, for some reason.

    Bg 10 has quite the bad functionality reputation, but not as much as the EST 2 or 3 fire alarm panel.

    • @alexandersalarms5380
      @alexandersalarms5380 2 года назад

      EST2 and EST3's work fine it's usually poor QC or programming, very low bid installs and mostly at schools

    • @achannelwithnopurpose1977
      @achannelwithnopurpose1977 2 года назад

      @@alexandersalarms5380 Every EST system i’ve come across had something wrong with it. The one at my old middle school was the worst though. It constantly went into alarm for no particular reason whatsoever and at one point got so bad, the school just used the false alarms for fire drills. When me and the school did get to trip it, the system took a VERY long time to trip and at one point I thought a pull station was broken because it didn’t even trip until 30-40 seconds later. Thats only the tip of the iceberg with this particular system, and it was, in fact, actually installed properly which is the biggest offender for me. The only good EST products are the genesis series, io series, and the newest of the newest SIGA series.

    • @alexandersalarms5380
      @alexandersalarms5380 2 года назад

      @@achannelwithnopurpose1977 Yeah as I said, it's usually schools because they are low bid installs and crappy electrical companies will always do quick, fast, poor work and leave it up to inspectors and other companies to fix what they screwed up. Not EST's fault, installers fault and poor QC.

    • @achannelwithnopurpose1977
      @achannelwithnopurpose1977 2 года назад

      @@alexandersalarms5380 Still have seen bad EST in other places, but yeah I definitely agree with what you said on schools buying crappy EST from crappy dealers. The moral of the story: “Remember kids, don’t buy cheap fire protection!”.

    • @alexandersalarms5380
      @alexandersalarms5380 2 года назад

      @@achannelwithnopurpose1977 EST is basically dollar store simplex, meant for cheap upgrades. EST Will do what simplex will do for you, but for a FRACTION of the price. Don't expect anything that good quality from EST to be honest. but it still works when needed.

      People can’t predict the future lmao. Many times developers don’t see how their product will hold up in the long run as certain components don’t age well and it isn’t their fault because again, they can’t predict the future. All they can do is take what didn’t work and improve upon it because that’s just human nature.
