Looks a lovely place to chill and fish.🤫🎣 On another day, who knows.🤔 Love drone footage.❤️ Thanks for taking us with you.👍👍 Take care and stay safe.😷🙊
@@SaltwaterAngler I'm just catching up on weekend videos. Last night I had 6 and couldn't find the time to watch them all.🫣😲 Thanks for the time and effort you put in.👍 It's much appreciated.👏👏
Another great video Matt. Love the drone shots. I have fished those beaches with reasonable success. Bass; eels; pout and rockling on one day from memory when I took a few friends out for the day.
The secret of a big bass close in . Wessex rig , big mackerel or squid bait on the 6/0 3/0 pennel running ledger , big worm bait on the 3/0 top snood . 20 - 30 yardas out .
I have always liked the look of Pett Beach. I have only fished it once and I blanked just like you. You are right, it is very snaggy in places. It is somewhere I want to go back to a few times to try again.
Awesome again Matt fished there a few times in my teens caught some nice fish not much going on here been quite hot still a few sharks in the swan river .Happy catching from AUSTRALIA Nick
I often go here when the other local beaches are crammed with anglers when the makeral are in. It's a really nice place to wander along the sea wall early in the morning, sea on one side the Levels on the other side, bird life is amazing.
Good plan ! Yes the birding is excellent with rye harbour one side and the cliffs on the other - peregrine, ravens loads of wild foul I can’t I’d too !
Nice video and like the drone footage. Iv fish there quite a bit in the past, never got much to speak about apart from huge Chan whiting one year, and some small bass, and flat fish. Cliff edge nice for bass to the right. Nice spot for lug a bit further down to the left and nice area to practice casting.
Thanks for the info! Yep Ive fishedfor bass there but never seemed to do too well on the lures from that spot relatively- I blame those seals. Good tip for the lug
Matt , I fished pet many times about 40 years ago , after a few blanks a locals tip put me on a top mark , it was between the first two headlands more towards the first one, you reached a small beach , then you were in fishing heaven. This was not a safe mark to walk to or back because of the blue Mudd quick sand , all the best.
My favourite mark is shown in your video looking further towards Hastings. The nudist beach has some good rocks for Bass. You keep your kit on and try to ignore some realy gross sights and enjoy some good fishing.
Brilliant Tim ! I also like that area for Ravens and the peregrine falcons always seem to see them there too. Good stuff just remember to avert your eyes 👀
It’s February Matt 😂. Fished there my whole life and to be honest it’s poor at high tide , better off moving left towards dogs hill ( opp the cafe ) and fishing low tide up . Flatties mostly . Another pointer …. The boats behind launch there via winch using both the bays you fished so not an ideal spot if you don’t want to keep moving gear out of the way 😊 Keep up the good work with your vids mate 👍🏼
I struggle at pett level, had a few flounder and eels I've met someone who did well here, he fished at darkness casting on top of the rocky ground and getting lots of bass
Used to fish this area 30 years ago, black lug from Eric at dungs, used to be fat rockling in feb, schoolies in summer . My best bass was in hove with squid 7lber
Nice venue for the more senior novice like myself. Loos through the gap after the caravans. Coffee shop opens late at 1000 😞 Went twice for the first time last summer. I'd like to explore towards Fairlight (not for the naturists!) but I'm on my own. How far can I go and get back?
Dunno what happened to my question. Any advice out there on walking towards Hastings from Pett and getting back safely? Best avoid right under the cliffs, I'm sure...
@@SaltwaterAngler I vaguely remember someone telling me low water was best for Bass there and to be fair ,my bait would have been very frozen blacks and squid😆

@@SaltwaterAngler True, I prefer the "warts and all" approach. Another thing, kudos for picking up that discarded string/line. I've seen what that stuff does to the local fauna.
Your videos are very good quality. I miss the sound of waves on the beach.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks David , I think sound is important for that feeling of the sea

Love the extra 'arty' shots and drone footage. Very enjoyable video as always, thanks.
Thanks, They are just covering up the blank session! Trying my best to make it watchable if not useful to you in a small way
Great video again 👏 👍 love the shots!!!
Thanks as always - glad you noticed
Love your enthusiasm and commitment. Keep on producing the good stuff. More power to you 👍
Thank you! Will do!

Ohh yes !
Yeah, usually where a gully intersects a decent breaking surf is a great place for them.
Just good to get out mate thanks for the video and tight lines every one👍
Nice comment 🫡
Thankyou for sharing ... hard fishing this time of year ....
Greatful you made the effort 👌
Yea my records show the worst calendar month down south - march can bring rays though so stay tuned
Always love your explanations and hints, great video!
Thanks for checking in. Its a bit more interesting this spot than surrounding marks

Nice thanks for the comment. I agree it has that potential - let us know how it goes if you fish here again

4 degrees here though Nick , thought you may of once fished here , I’ll come back again in the late spring to see if the bass have arrived
good bass fishing mark towards cliff end i've seen the bass and mackerel working bait fish into the gulleys and boulders that lead up to the cliffs
Cliff where 😉 if it only wasn’t for those damed seals 🦭

Thanks 👍

Yes I know that bit 👍 good tip
its always hard this time of year, good try Matt keep going my friend nice video 👍🎣
Thanks Stevie - more fish coming next week 👍
Nice vid. Google maps satellite view can be helpful too when sussing features in the sea for new marks.
Very true! I even did a video on it - many years ago ruclips.net/video/afi6zgp3a2s/видео.html
God, just noticed on your notification picture.
You nearly took out the drone with the lead on that cast.

Thanks for that ! Yep I do rate that first push of the flood at almost every venue , some good info there thanks
Soft day, peaceful venue. Fishing for dreams maybe..
I like it! But this venue owes me a good fish Now !
Arrrr well, a fish is just a bonus to a great day spent out in nature after all. 😉
I agree - but not more than twice in a row ! Some winter days are brilliant
Love the Dab Hand bit 😉
You noticed ! First to mention it 💪
No fish, no problem matt still good video.
Have always fished at low tide there with lug as that's a good digging spot.
Yes that low tide is golden isn’t it- next week there will be a few different species including 2 p.bs !
great vid loved the drone over the boat bro
Glad you enjoyed it
just a thought you tried everything apart from moving 20 yards left or right. thanks and good video.
Great idea

Hi Matt. What is the yellow rod you’re using please. Looks to have a very nice soft casting action.
Cheers John 😃👍
Hi John sorry for the delay - I’m just sorting out the list of all my gear - will send this out very soon
Nice one what drone you using
Mavic mini 2
Used to fish Pett a bit when I first started sea fishing a few years ago. Never caught anything😁
Aghh i'
m not alone then- i still think its the venue for early bass so will be back to target them -Live in hope !

I love Pett Level. Is the mark any good for lure fishing for Bass? If so what month does it start?
For me June but watch out for seals here
@@SaltwaterAngler wow, wouldn’t want to hook into one of those! Got a Mallard once when I was fishing with crust for Chub. That was horrendous.
I enjoyed that, Matt. Was the nod to the Dab (Hand) deliberate? 🙂
Ofcourse 😉
Your 2nd favourite fish...
Matt,finished
Well done ?
Quality not quantity
I’m not impressed with the effects ,but what do I know

Very observant, however I think that was just me pinging the line wasn’t it ?
@@SaltwaterAngler hahah ye looks like it😩

Yep although I obviously edit the videos I think we need to see the reality of sea fishing too !
