YES YES YES!! I got my first bunny when I was 12 and he passed at 6yrs old right after my high school graduation. I totally neglected him, didn’t get him neutered, and he lived a lonely life in a 3 story condo and never really binkied or had the chance to do zoomies. 😓 I was a horrible person at the time and had limited education and I was very- let’s just say If I saw my past self neglecting him as much as I did today, I would have beat the S outta me. Two weeks after Oreo passed away from a tumor in his chest I got Jonah who was being neglected in a pet store which I thought was a rescue. It’s not and I don’t support them anymore. omg hi Katt! Thank you so much for sharing your experience, we all start from somewhere and along the way we fall in love with these creatures and the more we learn, our rabbit care changes too. We're all just trying to do our best and it's wonderful that you've been impacted so much by your bun Oreo. I've had a similar experience with my childhood bunnies, totally regret how they were cared for, but try to make up for it now by giving my current buns the best life possible. When you're introduced to bunnies, usually your knowledge is very limited about them and that doesn't make you a terrible person. Super excited if you ever open a rescue, you would give a lot of much needed love for every bun out there xxx amazing
I feel the same but I had guinea pigs when I was a kid and of course when you’re a kid you don’t completely understand that you’re caring for a life. I feel bad that I didn’t do a great job for them. I have bunnies now and I do my best to give them great lives. I’m glad there’s many people online sharing proper care info now to prevent neglect and poor care! :) If I ever have kids and they want their own pets, I’d do some research with them and have them do lots on their own before letting them get a pet. And probably have them be at least 14 years old to make sure they are responsible enough so they don’t go through the same mistakes as me. :/
I've felt the same, except my first pets were a variety of fishes: betta fish, goldfish, and more. The betta fishes were mine; however, the rest of the fishes belonged to my 4 year old brother. Due to the fact that he was very young and could not fulfill the responsibilities yet of taking a pet, it was up to me to take care of them for him. I did not complain tho, it was nice having more than one pet! I named my first beta fish Swimmie, and the other one something else that I could not remember. However, \at that time, I was 8, and I had limited knowledge of how to take care of pet fish. I left the duty of taking care of them to my parents after the first couple of months of taking care of them. It was irresponsible for me, and I neglected them as a pet owner. When I still took care of them often, I would sometimes forget to feed them, and they may have gone off a day hungry, which is unacceptable. Thankfully, under the care of my parents, they had amazing health and lived longer than two years (last year, my parents sold them to PetSmart to provide care for them bc they were too old, and we didn't know what to do. I have no idea how they are doing at the moment if they somehow managed to live this long or if they are even alive at all). I feel terrible for giving them a poor life, and I certainly wish I could travel back in time to be a better owner for them and apologize. even writing my pets' experience hurts my heart. hence, if you guys happen to have a pet or are going to get one, PLEASE do not make the same mistake as me and do all you can to provide them their best life. they need your care and you need them. anyways, sorry i wrote a paragraph lol but have a good day! 💖

Hey there gorgeous. You bunnies look happy as always. I took my bunny to the park yesterday and thought to myself it would be so easy for her to catch something.
I was gonna film the whole experience for you guys in this video but I was late to my appointment for the same reasons lmao, I can't believe you missed yours hahaha smart buns have managed their escape plan from the vet xx
After struggling to get mine in the carrier for the first vet appointment, I decided to "train" them. I would just put the carrier in their play pen for 10 minutes with some food or snacks in there, and increase the time everyday. After some time they'll learn that the carrier doesnt necessarily mean a trip to the scary vet. I hope this'll work for you :)
My vet recommended that I use a medicine called Triz EDTA on their ears to help with wax build up because they are Holland Lops. So far its really helped!
I was looking for a rabbit savvy vet near me but couldn’t find. My mom recommended our dogs vet, as he said he takes rabbits. Thankfully it was just a regular checkup but that’s all I needed to know I will not be going back there. I felt as if I was more educated on rabbits then the vet and I knew I had to get out of there right away when he said he does not think I should get my bunny spayed......because rabbits don’t get sick like other animals so he “doesn’t recommend it, she doesn’t need it”..... excuse me😭I have now found an exotic vet in a different county but I’m willing to take the drive to get my bunny the best care and someone actually knowledgeable on what she needs!!
I’m so glad you’re willing to take your bun to another county to get the proper care you want and your bun needs, your bun sounds so loved and cared for xxx
I have a 1-year-old blue dutch. He has tusking teeth. His bottom two incisors teeth grow out straight. The top four incisors curl into his mouth. He has to go every 2-3 weeks to the vet to get his teeth trimmed. To get him to overcome the fear of the carrier, I let him use it as part of his space as well as enrichment exercises. He was able to explore and really comfortable with it.
That’s a wonderful idea! I did that with my buns for a while too haha letting them hangout in the carrier really does get them used to it, especially since you bun has to go so often! xx
Yes my bunny currently has an ear infection. The vet I take him to are eh because his last check up they told me that it was clearing up and to stop giving him the eye drops and the ear drops and I’m like ok. Welp they lied because it’s draining out from his eye😩and the only thing that was helping is the antibiotic so I have to take him back for the 6th time
Your buns are so beautiful! I recently got 2 babies and they're awesome! Much more work than I ever really anticipated but I'm loving it! They will be getting spayed in May when they're old enough. Any tips to discourage eating of my wallpaper?? Currently got boxes and all sorts living the bottoms of my walls to stop them! Help a girl out, I've just decorated 🤣🤣🐇🐇❤
Awhhhh your buns must be living such a wonderful happy life with you, as for your wall paper, you can try making it inaccessible to your buns if possible, blocking it with other pieces of furniture, some grids or even blocking access to that room completely if they're really naughty xx
This made me a more comfortable.. my baby Holland lop is 4 months old and he cleans and itches a lot but when I took him to his first vet visit they didn’t find mites or any other issues... but lately he’s grooming even more and it’s making the back of his ears look a little more bald and red 😭 but since the vet already checked inside his ears I assume it’s also from grooming a mot
Oh the joy of a grumpy bunny in their carrier 😲 I always feel so bad. My bunny having an MRI for his seizure cause so he be doing that soon. Your videos are brilliant
Awh thank you! I always feel bad too haha hope everything goes well with your bun and his seizures, it sounds like you’re taking really great care of him xx
Can i ask like what is the name of that bottom layer for the pin? I want that for my rabbit's new play pin but I can't find it and i don't know the name of it is TvT
Believe me, i have watched RUclips video's about rabbits and rabbit care since i got my lovely rabbit lop for my B-day from my mom & sister and since i know how fragile they are, every time i see something that i personally think: "Oh, that's not normal", i call my vet. He's been here sometimes for nothing, but meanwhile i ask to clip the nails, i ask a bit of more info, about food or hay or anything really and the thing is, he takes his time with me and my rabbit. It's not that he is constantly trying to get out or is in a hurry, and that's what i like about my vet. Also if he needs to give him is his vaccines, he just let my rabbit choose the most comfortable way to sit. There are a lot of vets who just grab your rabbit and go for it. But anyway, i understand you when you say that you call your vet when you think there is something wrong, even if there isn't. I can see that you love your bunny's! 🥰
That’s so wonderful that you found such an amazing vet! It’s definitely better to be safe than sorry with buns because their health can decline so rapidly if you aren’t careful! It sounds like your buns are so loved and cared for by you xx
@@Katesque Oh he is! I'm trying to let him free roam now. That's the only thing i'm not able to fully give him. I'm scared that he would chew on the wires, but i have already experimented with that and he doesn't seem interested at all. So, while supervised, i'll let him out whole day so he can run. Even though he himself goes into his cage after 10Min. I think it's because he is so used to it... 🤷🏻♂️ I'm going to buy him little hide houses and try that way, maybe he is too afraid of being in "the open". And by that i mean INSIDE the house.
I remember when I got my rabbit neutered, the vet tech told me not to food him the night before and I called back like "what???" turns out she didn't know the correct info!
I always go to a general vet, but I ask for a specific veterinarian that knows a lot about rabbits :) My three have had way too many visits, but I'd do anything for them. We finally got one bunny's teeth under control and now another one got 3 abscesses. It's not easy and expensive, but definitely worth it
😂😂😂 gaining all this bunny knowledge for what 🤔 HAHA I find guinea pig videos fascinating too, must be a connection there, both very adorable creatures perhaps xxx
I'd really like to take all my rabbits to the vet when I go there but I have to split them up anyway because I haven't found a carrier that would fit 4 or more (because I have 4 grown ups and to unplanned baby's cause the mother couldn't be neutered yet - too young-and escaped and met with a "wild" boy xD).
I just got 2 bunny’s 3 weeks ago and a few days ago because I wanna have to so I have 2 now and I did a lot of research but because I live with my mom I have to have a small cage can you help me try to convince my mom to get a xpin because I have tried 1 time so I don’t try again
You can try suggesting keeping them in an x-pen or free roaming in your room. You can try offering to be extra good or do more chores and help out around the house in exchange for letting them in your room xx
Hi! Where are your hay racks from? Also I have always kept a very close eye on my little lop, but lately she’s been having quite a few more stringy? poops? (like two poops stuck together with a strand of fur) i know it’s not bad to have a few from them grooming themselves and she is also shedding a ton right now but won’t sit still to be brushed. 🥲
They're wire shelving I found at a dollar store! You can try brushing or just try petting your bun a lot to get all the loose fur out while they're eating. Make sure they're getting tonnes of hay and water xx
@@Katesque Awesome thank you!! Her poops are looking a bit better, so I will continue to keep an eye on her and help her molt best I can. I accidentally picked up the adult rabbit food rather than the young rabbit food, so I was a bit panicked about that fast transition because I know what it can do to your bun. After a bit of research I found that other people have done it too and their bunnies were fine so I was crossing my fingers. Id say she’s been on it for about two weeks now and i’ve been giving her a sprinkle of alfalfa on her hay to hopefully substitute for the alfalfa-based pellets she was used to having. She’s my first rabbit but she means so much to me so i’ve not been getting much sleep thinking about her.. I am pretty sure she is completely fine and I am just over analyzing and being emotional, but it’s nice to talk to someone that has also done extensive research and loves their buns just as much.
I recently got 2 baby bunnies that were very social and I was unaware that rabbits do not like being carried so I carried them often I now know that they do not like to be carried but they are very scared and do not like to be pet anymore does anyone have any tips on how to make them more social again
Give them their space and slowly let them get used to your presence without touching them for a long time, then when they don’t run away anymore you can try giving them treats and slowly start petting them again xx
@@Katesque thank you so much I tried this and it really worked one of the bunnies is much more friendly towards me the other one just prefers my dad tho 😂
Hello! I have a slight problem that I really need help with. My friend is going on a trip for a week and needs me to watch her bunny and it's going to be staying at my house. Although, I have a puppy that tries to play with every living thing she sees. I don't want to give the bunny a heart attack.. what do I do?? please help!!
If you can, try to put the bunny in the corner of a room, that way 2/4 sides are “protected”. Maybe drape a blanket on another side so that the puppy and bunny can only see each other through one side. I brought a puppy home last year and my bunnies are fine with him, but you’re right to be extra careful when it comes to not spooking the bunny. Also you could take the puppy for a walk before the bunny gets there, so that he/she is mellow, and then keep him/her on the lead for when the puppy first is “introduced” to the bunny so that he doesn’t lunge at it or anything. Hope that helps a bit!
I recently adopted two rabbits and your videos have helped so much so thank you!!!
woah ur famous
I'm so glad! Your buns must be living such a happy life with you, thank u so much for watching xx

I think it's because he is so used to it... 🤷🏻♂️ I'm going to buy him little hide houses and try that way, maybe he is too afraid of being in "the open". And by that i mean INSIDE the house.
lol your lucky your bunnies don’t attempt to jump over your enclosure I made the same one for my baby bunny and she just keeps jumping over it😩
What a cheeky baby bunny hahaha yeah I have no idea why they don't, they definitely are capable though xx
I remember when I got my rabbit neutered, the vet tech told me not to food him the night before and I called back like "what???" turns out she didn't know the correct info!
omg that stresses me out haha my vet clearly told me PLEASE don't fast them before surgery lmao, glad you called them back!
I always go to a general vet, but I ask for a specific veterinarian that knows a lot about rabbits :) My three have had way too many visits, but I'd do anything for them. We finally got one bunny's teeth under control and now another one got 3 abscesses. It's not easy and expensive, but definitely worth it
That's a brilliant idea! Ugh we always just do the most for them haha, so so worth it! xx
I have a rabbit and his name is cookie and he a long ear bunny
How adorable! xx
i own 2 guinea pigs and i’m most likely never going to own bunnies but for some reason i watch your videos 😂🧡
😂😂😂 gaining all this bunny knowledge for what 🤔 HAHA I find guinea pig videos fascinating too, must be a connection there, both very adorable creatures perhaps xxx
Wait where’s ur her phone?!?! She usually has her phone for the microphone oh my goodness haha how did I notice this 😂
omg HAHA I love how you only just noticed! Truly been there since the beginning, I bought a new mic for my camera :( so no more phone mic xx
OH...HAHAHAHAHAHA well uh oops 😅

@@Katesque thank you so much I tried this and it really worked one of the bunnies is much more friendly towards me the other one just prefers my dad tho 😂
bruh background music so good, may i know what it is
Its this song that I licensed for my video haha

@@helaynajames7028 Thank you so much!! This really helped :)
$400!!!! I was pissed about $175 and $195 Vets are WAY OVER PRICED!!!!!
Your videos are very helpful! How does your rabbits not jump that pen when you are gone or do they still get to free roam?🐰
They surprisingly don't haha, most likely don't like landing on the tile around it! xx
Lucky
how do your rabbits not jump over the set up? i have one and they jump over all the time 😫
There’s tiles around the play pen so they must not like jumping onto the surface 😅😅😅 xx I’m surprised they don’t either tbh haha
@@Katesque that makes sense, mine don’t like walking on tiles either aha. thank you! xx
I just got my third and fourth rabbit today and am officially a crazy bun lady now 🙃😊 (mochi and matcha)
I just want all the bunnies in the world hahahah your buns have been adopted into such a wonderful family xxxx
400 dollars??? i paid 70 euro to neutered my rabbit here in blegium and i go to the same as for my dog or my cats
Oi kokie triušei o namas koks gražus jums turbūt kažkas padarė toki namas jūsū triušiams
my vet spays and neuters bunnies for $75 for a guy and $95 for a girl :D
Dang that's awesome! Lucky you haha
Spay or neuter them all you have to do is take them to the animal shelter and they’ll do it for free
Oh what! I never knew about this thanks for letting me know haha I wish I’d known earlier 😂 xx
