Expert Provides Overview of Animal Nutrition and Feed Formulation

Dr. Basilisa Pascual-Reas, USSEC Senior Technical Consultant - Animal Utilization, Southeast Asia, offered a basic overview of animal nutrition and feed formulation during USSEC’s virtual 2020 Asia Trade Exchange in mid-June. She explained how animals use nutrients and energy, as well as how soybeans provide protein and amino acids. Pascual-Reas differentiated crude protein from digestible essential amino acids and highlighted many other considerations to best formulate livestock feed.
