I have used the internal frame coating and have a cool tip. Get yourself a coat hanger and tape the nozzle end of the spray tube to the end of a section of coat hanger. This makes it easy to get the tube in and out of the frame and also allows you to hold it up in the air inside the frame instead of dragging it along the bottom. It also keeps the spray tube from wanting to curl up and make you lose some of the 24" length of it. Nice work on saving a classic RV!
Hahaha, allergies man. We have this lovely thing here in Texas called mountain cedar. It is not a cedar nor does it grow in mountain regions but the pollen it produces is dumb.
lol.. *in my head as you started painting.. "we'll just put a happy cloud right here".. next thing out of your mouth, "like Bob Ross, just paint a happy tree".. too perfect. use that saran wrap between the lid of that rust encap platinum. stuff will glue it down if you have any in the groove.
I haven’t watched all this to the end yet so I don’t k ow how it all turns out, but I know one thing - you will remember this experience for the rest of your life, and in a good way.
Not supposed to shake the rust encapsulator platinum... also, tip for next time... heat up the spray wand tube to straighten it out, makes it easier to use
Nice video showing how to apply products. I’m renovating a 31’ Airstream Excella II. Why do you like Eastwood over POR15 or Mastercoat? Are you sponsored by Eastwood?
T-shirt made me think sponsored. I just ordered the Eastwood Platinum Rust Encapsulator for my 1951 Dodge Power Wagon frame so hopefully it works well. Just from some of the research I've done POR15 doesn't seem like all it's cracked up to be but end of the day similar products. I like Eastwood better because mechanical rust remove, PRE, then brush on. POR15 seems to have too many steps and spray bottles that you'll run out of. Just my opinion...hope it works out for you!
Thanks for the informative video! Question for you, how many quarts did you use to do the frame? I have a 24' Argosy frame I am about to paint. Great stuff, but also not cheap. My thought is 2 quarts will do the job, but just not sure. Thanks!
Yea, quality often times costs! I used 3 quarts with some left in the last one for my 31 ft so 2 would probably work. You could always get a pint if the 2 don't finish it off. If you do end up getting some, using the link in the comment helps me so much appreciated!
The Seek First Adventure I’m in Austin and am going to start my renovation soon on my 89 excella 1000-34ft. Ihave done tons of research and am still afraid of wiring. My 34 ft is 30 amp with 1 ac as well. I’m going to add a second AC as well and make it 50amp. Can’t wait til you get to that stage. Hopefully I can find out how to pm you. I have previously owned a excella 280 MH which burned down due to cracked fuel line. Decided to purchase a TT this time around. I renovated that one myself
I used 3 quarts with some left in the 3rd can. I still need to hit a few spots under my shell support structure when I put the floor in so I would say get 3 and you would be good for a 31 ft frame. You can always get another little pint if you need more too.

That frame looks great now! Nice job Ian! I hope you get rid of the man flu soon!

@@MillerGarage ahh I see! I suffer from hayfever really bad too. In summer my eyes are always red and my nose is always blocked!

Haha, couldn't help it! Yea, that stuff is powerful. Part of why I got the smaller containers, I was able to use it all and not waste any.

Looks great! I know it was a lot of work, but well worth it. Steady on!
Thanks, so glad to be done with that part!
How about using bed liner to cover the frame?
