Yay! It's here! I'm so very excited to work on this and even more excited to collab with Jonti! Great work this episode, man. And thanks to all of you for your awesome feedback. Episode 2 on my channel next!
I work in the animal industry and zoos, and if you really want to go for realism, in zoo design there are four "stakeholders" that you have to design for (well three and then the environment because everything is green now). They are the animals, the guests and the staff. So far you have the guests and animals sorted, but you might want to think about how the staff are getting into the enclosures to clean... You have the door leading to the inside of the meerkat enclosure, but there's no way for them to the outside without climbing over a fence, which they wouldn't really be allowed to do due to health and safety (or able to do if it's a substrate change because there's no way you could lift a wheelbarrow or bucket full of sand over that) If you do fix that also make sure everything is safeguarded with double doors, animals should never be able to go through one door and be in a public area. Think about how walk through enclosures have the little entrance and exit areas where you might have to wait for one door to close before the other will open
You could look at Wildlands Zoo Emmen for inspiration. That park looks great but sadly it's suffering financial losses due to us Dutch people not being used to a zoo with rides like coasters and such. One example out of this park is an enclosure with a second hand metro laying into it at the back. You can actually walk through this metro and see the animals even closer. It may be called a zoo, but it's a combination between a zoo and a safari.
Most zoo enclosures now aim for less visible fencing using hot wire and sunken boundaries instead to create the feeling that the animals are not in cages for the public. Look down enclosures are also become less common as most animals get stressed when something is above them. You should have a walk through reptile house
@@Geekism yep, most zoo's now use these methods along with suncken fencing under water to hide any form of containment for the animals. It's to combat the people who argue that keeping animals in zoo's is like keeping them in a prison and it works. Out of sight means out of mind I guess. It also helps with visitor immersion, making people feel like there inside the exhibit like having the sames plants both inside and outside the enclosure. Another little thing to add to the realism is in order to hold a zoo licence in the UK there must be educational boards on each display animal.
I’m like 99.99999999999999999999999% sure that the thumbnail hippo is destined to be a opera singer. Edit: OMG thanks for the heart thing I never got one before!
So if you guys like, I do have some backstage pictures of the Disney parks, I'd be happy to send them to yah. :) But I love this concept, I'm excited to see where this goes! Also, those meerkats are adorable!!! We had a pizza and pasta buffet style place at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, but they've been redoing it sadly :(
My gosh this looks like it’s going to be a fun series! I’ve really only seen Sdanwolf & maybe a couple others tackle this style but I am really looking forward to more.
My 2 ABSOLUTELY FAV people together!!!!! I can't wait for each and every episodes of this! Thank you guys and love your parks so excited to see what you come up with on this. Woodland Park Zoo, San Diego Zoo, Berlin Zoo, and the Zoo in Copenhagen are some of my favorite around the world.
Sorry i meant you can have a little indoor part with snakes spiders Scorpions... And crocodiles and maybe a long lake that goes next to some exhibits with a boat Toor going in the lake and you can pretent that the crocodiles and hippos can swim in there while it's summer
This whole idea definitely reminds me of west midlands safari park, they have added a whole load of really jank rides at the back of the safari area where you buy tickets for each ride! Love the idea and you two collabing 👍🏻
Really looking forward to this as I’m currently creating an ‘Africa’ style area in one of my parks and you both are awesome creators in PlanCo! Would be awesome for you to collab with SdanWolf perhaps on this a little too as his Animal park stuff is amazing!!! Roll on episode 2!
Pretty cool thought. I like the idea. Like you guys said kinda like an mid 70s version of Busch Gardens Tampa and to some smaller extent Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Originally the Tampa park actually was a zoo at the start of it.
If there aren't enough animals to fully fill out the zoo, it would be GREAT if you made a small outdoor or indoor waterpark section with slides, or if you do an indoor one, you could just build the facade and have a slide come out the side of it and back I'm again to show what it is!
Can I just say I love the way Jonti says collab? ...co-lab, hehehe. Seriously excited for this. 'Twas a nice surprise to wake up to and will be fun to follow.
I've been watching SDanwolf's take on a zoo and he kept mentioning this collab so had to check it out. This looks so good. can't wait to get caught up on this series.
I was recently playing RCT3 and was thinking how cool it would be to have the Soaked or Wild expansions appear in Planco in some form. Really looking forward to seeing how this park develops!
A pizza and pasta buffet? Hell yeah we've got them in the USA! In fact I think Holiday World's main Christmas marketplace could be considered one of them. Surely other parks have one too.
You should look at many zoo exhibits to get even more ideas. These look great. I have always wanted planet coaster for this exact reason. To make a zoo park. I have always played modded zt2, but it isn t as realistic or as free as plantetcoaster.
Great, really looking forward to you both building in a bit of a different style! Also, I absolutely don't mind not seeing everything built in time-lapse. Those go a bit too fast to follow for me anyway, and I enjoy getting a good look at the finished build on a more leasurely pace.
Yay! It's here! I'm so very excited to work on this and even more excited to collab with Jonti! Great work this episode, man. And thanks to all of you for your awesome feedback. Episode 2 on my channel next!
maskedbandit wooo! Very excited to see what you dadz come up with! Love your work!!!
Love your content especially planet brocoaster. Can't wait to see what you and Jonti can do!

Planet coaster is limited for realism. Also for the objects and scaling. The scale is to big for realism. There must be a scaling tool for it.
Great advice, thanks!
The background music sounds like something from RCT3. 😭😂
I’m always excited to see a new park project!!

Sounds good! We'll check it out

Interesting! I can't find much online about 'hot wire' but I'm assuming it's electric fencing?

They also use "electric grass" basically a steel wire fence bush thats electric
Will it feature camels? ;)
There is actually a great camel on the TMTK workshop! So... yes!
@@Geekism I know, obviously I do know this item. I´ll have something for you too. Watch my channel tomorrow ;-)
@@Geekism Yes and also "yes"
Woo-hoo! 😆
Hey, I've got an idea, what if you make a dinosaur themed area with fossils and maybe a dino-dig play area for children? A few zoos have them.
this is so cool, so long as there is a safari train...
Watching this now and it’s so weird since they’ve just announced planet zoo
If and when you do crocodiles for reference I’d look at the Australia zoo they have some decent crocodile exhibits
Cool!
I’m like 99.99999999999999999999999% sure that the thumbnail hippo is destined to be a opera singer.
Edit: OMG thanks for the heart thing I never got one before!
A new giraffe has just been added in the tool box section, static and animated one for your park. Love this new park

This whole idea definitely reminds me of west midlands safari park, they have added a whole load of really jank rides at the back of the safari area where you buy tickets for each ride! Love the idea and you two collabing 👍🏻

No idea!
Mabye for a special anniversary they spent a lot of money and bought a rmc on the side of the park throught or replacing a vern
This looks great !
Hey cool! Surprise new collab project. Looking forward to following this, chaps!
An attraction like kilimanjaro safari (but perhaps scaled down) would be a perfect fit for this park.
Yeeeeah ! New Planet Coaster with friends !
This looks amazing, I do see that pufferfish being a mascot of some sort for the park or the restaurant if it was part of an outside chain.
I love the swahili. I did a study abroad in Tanzania and learned some swahili during my month long stay.
U love this series already!!🙃🙂
Aha! I love the noseeum green use!
Good work!! I honestly wish there will be a Planet Safari game announcing soon.
AMAZEBALLS!
Omg I love this
Reminds me of a collab park Rudi and delady and some other people did! I can’t wait to see this park🤗
This looks awesome, I’m gonna follow the howl series for sure :D
Thanks :)

Great work!,!!
Great work, looking forward to this progressing )

I've been waiting for a good PlanCo collab since Koali Beach ended. Best of luck and I'm eager to see what you two will show us.
Ooh like it! I'm building a zoo for 1 1/2 year now, lost my inspiration.. I hope getting it back by watching you guys. Because it's fun!
I would love to see a monorail! A lot of zoos and safari parks have one that doubles as transportation and aerial viewing of the animals!!
Pretty cool thought. I like the idea. Like you guys said kinda like an mid 70s version of Busch Gardens Tampa and to some smaller extent Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Originally the Tampa park actually was a zoo at the start of it.

amazing job
American here, yes, Pizza and Pasta buffets do exist.
I think the one pizza is meant to be meatballs? They have those sometimes.
Can I just say I love the way Jonti says collab?
...co-lab, hehehe.
Seriously excited for this. 'Twas a nice surprise to wake up to and will be fun to follow.
How else do you say it? 😅
YES NEW PARK PLEASE DO MORE PLAN CO :D
YAY the two best planet coaster players... in my opinion that is
So this is the long awaited new park!
I've been watching SDanwolf's take on a zoo and he kept mentioning this collab so had to check it out. This looks so good. can't wait to get caught up on this series.
Amazing😉
I was recently playing RCT3 and was thinking how cool it would be to have the Soaked or Wild expansions appear in Planco in some form. Really looking forward to seeing how this park develops!
starts a new series off with an archer... solid!
i think i need to recreate my zoo and reactivate. great new series looking forward :)
A pizza and pasta buffet? Hell yeah we've got them in the USA! In fact I think Holiday World's main Christmas marketplace could be considered one of them. Surely other parks have one too.
as busch gardens tampa being my home park, i am so excited for this. there isn’t many people doing busch gardens type parks!
Yay!
You should look at many zoo exhibits to get even more ideas. These look great. I have always wanted planet coaster for this exact reason. To make a zoo park. I have always played modded zt2, but it isn t as realistic or as free as plantetcoaster.

I thought when your over with pinewood hills I thought your going back to Geekism Studio but this is way more better
sick
For a ride, you should add a train which many zoos have.
Niiiiiice!!! Don't forget to use Chessington World Of Adventures for some inspiration on how a zoo works with rides too!
