Thanks for your comment ! There has been a lot of clean up in town and it is getting back to normal but there remains a lot of need for those that had their homes damaged or destroyed.
Thanks for watching and commenting! Hopefully the municipality can find a solution to help reduce the frequency and intensity of flooding in this area.
I was at hotel tangeri with my girl friend on October 20th. We Watchied the brook next to hotel turn into a raging river. Next morning about 2ft of beach had been carved out and washed out. I counted 4 refrigerators on beach. This said people living near brook upstream had serious damage and losses. When we left next day. We drove right passed the Alcalde of Garrabito giving an interview tp a TV reporter in center by megasuper. .
Hope you can give us an update, basically talking about damage around town. My dad sent me forwarded videos of his place at Monte Carlo... the water was everywhere. we're super worried about damage!
Best to contact the administration of your building. The flood was a while ago and everything is back to normal. They were taking out a lot of muck from that property in the week following the flood but I can't see anything unusual since. The worst damage was to the houses across the street past the IPAI language school as well as the street from there that leads to the park.
I failed to mention the areas around the rivers towards the highway, which also had significant damage. I don't really get out in that area much and it's well out of the downtown and areas most visitors frequent but that's the area where people lost homes or had even more significant damage.
Firstly Glad you are okay. Wishing the best for everyone out there. I was planning on going to Jaco Costa Rica and was wondering what Months is Summer Season ?
Thanks for your comments! The weather service said that this year summer /dry season will start sometime December 1-15th in the Central pacific, and January 1st in the southern Pacific areas. It varies a bit based on location and I'm not completely sure for all areas but December through to Easter is typical of the.summer in Jaco area
There is no sewer system, and the aquaduct system definitely needs improvement but the main issue is the very huge amount of rain in a few hours. There was over 100l of rain per m3 in a 4 hour period. This caused overflowing riverbanks which led to huge waves of water spilling into town. Not sure how they can fix this but hopefully there is some improvements they can make to help with this growing problem.
No that was a very significant tropical storm. It is currently still rainy season which does include some risk of flooding, problems with roads etc but it hasn't been anywhere as bad as the dates on the video
Well it's almost February up here where I live and I just finished shoveling snow off my car and driveway, so, yes, Jaco sounds like it'd be a good place to be. Have fun.

Wow that’s a lot of rain. I was there back in 2007 and experienced some flooding in my car behind mega super going into Haina condos.

Can you tell me if water got into costa linda condominiums. Or how that area handled the rains ? Gracias
Sorry I'm not sure. I haven't made it to that part of town since the storm, but if anyone knows and can comment here it would be helpful
Did they skimp on the gulleys when building the road?

Is the drive from the airport safe?
There are fairly long delays travelling within the country at the moment due to landslides and other rain related infrastructure problems.
Dios mío que lluvia.
he visto muchas tormentas, pero esto era algo diferente 😳
You walked right by my house and business. This sucks
I hope your places didn't flood 😢
@@JacoLive both! Thank you for asking! It means a lot.
Watch for the crocodiles!
Thanks! No kidding... There are some crocs in the mouth of the river that overflowed (but only much closer to the ocean thankfully). Pura vida ✌️
