I shared at work that I have severe dyslexia when called on the carpet for my lagging in performance in keeping current on my documentation. It was not recieved well.
I become emotional at work when sharing that my mother whom I live with has been diagnosed with ALS and is steadily declining.
I was told to leave at home when I come to work.
Opening up is not universally accepted. I feel that often this is met with the belief that your oversharing or you're making excuses for your performance or behaviors.
