I haven't seen a bad or negative review of the mini! I'm really impressed they made so much power in such a small package. Even if the power button is very silly by being on the bottom 😂
@taron.y Great to know, thank you! I have a Pro coming in as well, hopefully I can find the time do a review for you guys. I'm glad you're liking yours! Also, the Chiefs have some dark, juju magic man
Hi David. I saw someone complain that the fan noise was excessive when downloading their large 60mb images off their sony into Light room. I was wondering if you could comment about the fan kicking in: how often, how load and under what situations. Thank you! Robert
@joeygo0999 Jaja, gracias por las amables palabras! Tu mensaje me puso una sonrisa en la cara 😁 ¡Espero que hayas disfrutado el video, y habrá mucho más por venir!
Were you able to get your peripherals hooked up via the USB-C ports in the front? I was not able to get my MX Logitech, master keyboard or mouse to register. Can you go in a detail about how you were able to get them to connect to be able to log into your Mac mini?
Cyberpunk 2077 will have a native Mac port next year I believe, and then you will get much higher FPS, now it uses a wrapper, so it has to virtualize an environment for it to play on Mac, which takes a lot of system resources just to run the environment for the game to run in.
Hey David! I’m a college student who only needs a MacBook for web browsing and some multitasking through multiple apps and windows being opened at the same time. I was looking at some Costco and BestBuy prices and wanted to ask. Would you recommend getting the M2 with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD for $700 or upgrading to 16GB RAM for an extra $50 or upgrading to 512GB SSD for an extra $250 or upgrading to the M3 8GB RAM for an extra $100 or M3 16GB RAM for $200. I don’t use any intensive apps but am worried about what people say about 8GB damaging the SSD over time. I’m also not sure if it’s worth going to the M3 for $100 or if the M2 will perform just the same for my needs. I also don’t know if I need the extra RAM but upgrading the M2 to 16 GB would only cost $50 which seems heavily enticing. Thank you for the help in advance brother!
There is no Mac Mini M3. The M4 Mac Mini doesn't come with 8GB of RAM. If you're really tight on budget, get the 16GB M2. If you have the money to do so, get the M4 because it'll be more compact and you'll be able to use it for longer after college. Also think about it if you have USB-A accesories, since the M2 has these ports, but the M4 only has USB-C.
@@David_Trangi just sold base model m2 air after 18 months of using it and got m1 pro . The laptop is great for browsing etc its just awesome especially how thin it is . M1 pro after air so bulky. Performance for m2 was good even for base model. You are getting good screen keyboard and battery wich last for hours ! Definitely recommend it . Its ok for light video editing as well
Finally, someone reviewed the gold standard vanilla M1 vs the new M4 in real world test, not just regurgitate Geekbench/Cinebench scores! Thank you, David!! How much RAM have you got on M1 MBP? If your regular non-Pro M1 MBP took (rounded) 13min vs 11 min on M4, it comes down to just ~18% performance increase in four years/generations! So, if you would compare not MBP, but regular M1 Mac mini vs M4 Mac mini, M1 seems to have proven as being quite futureproof, and an insane value for money both then and now, if you buy it used.
Apple stores dont have the mini yet so how are there so many videos now with people reviewing it? My nearby apple store still has the m2 macmini on display. I checked yesterday.
@hipidipi20157max Oh, thats weird! I did make sure I purchased online when it was first announced so I could get a unit in for you guys to review. Super strange it's not in your local stores, though!
What country do you live in? Apple Stores have the m4. I picked one myself on Friday- they were sold out an hour later, but I can see they’re back in stock already
If i can use this for gaming (nothing sorry high-end) I'll sell my 2020 model Alienware and finally switch to macOS for my personal computer too. The only thing that would bother me is a lack of USB ports, so I'd have to buy an expensive hub. Curious what the Pro is like.
There is a game on Steam that I really like. I want to know how it performs on the Mac Mini. The name of the game is X-Plane, a flight simulator game for the Mac. Can you try F1, please? Thank you from a new subscriber.
I am debating the same thing, I dock my M1 pro macbook on two screens 90% of the time, it would be nice to have a mac mini to do that job, but for the 10%, it would be painful to transfer what I've been currently working on from mac mini to macbook and bring it with me...
Android is more fun and great tablets. I have always hated laptops because they have never been portable really and hate the keyboard so close to the screen. Tablets have replaced laptops and if not then a macmini would be better IMO.
@hipidipi20157max I love the Galaxy Tabs, they're so good! They don't export videos effectively/quickly enough for me as someone moving toward full time content creation unfortunately, but its amazing for absolutely everything else!
Thanks. I’m hitting up a few mac reviewers to see if they can test how well the machine performs when the Sequoia is installed and booted up through thunderbolt 4 and 5. For me that might make a difference between getting the base or pro.

The M4 Pro is even better. I purchased the base. Had it for a day, then returned it for a Pro and was blown away. It’s worth it.

How do you guys return a “used” computer? In Australia unless it is faulty, we can’t return anything!😢
@Realist-m9c Whoa, really! Here in the US, most things have a 14 day return policy!
@@DavidAVelez1same in Europe, and with Apple you have extended returns for the Christmas period that so happens to start in November
There’s 3D printable part where you can just use the Mac mini itself as a power bottom by pushing down on it. It’s on X.
Hahaha, I actually just saw that yesterday after I had already uploaded the video 🤣 Honestly not a bad idea!
OMG FINALLY! One of these reviewers said the FPS they got for League!!!!!
M4 mac Mini
League of Legends FPS: 188
I’m not sure why everybody’s trying the test with the 422 pro res. That is the easiest footage to handle. Try some h265 pls
Just order the Mini M4 pro with upgraded cores and 48gb Ram….. arrives Monday!! 🎉
Lets go! Mega hype! Allll that Ram 🤤I hope you love it!

Oh! It is the INNOCN 40 Inch UltraWide!
for the SD card, you know like you said get one of those adapters that also come with a couple of A holes
Yes! Not ideal, but its the solution for now
I have never used sd cards, only usb sticks. SD are extremely small and I fear damaging them.
@hipidipi20157max There is unfortunately no USB stick slot here. A USBC hub will work there also! I can understand the concern with the SD cards!

YES! 100000% Agree with you! That would make it nearly perfect. Bit of a miss
Least the docks will be cool looking though, small with say a card reader in the front and a couple USB-As in the back.
