Never heard of that dish but it looked tasty - I'll give it a try in my Trangia! Thanks for the video.

    Yorkshire pudding for one….
One egg, 1/4 cup flour, pinch of salt, 1/4 cup milk or water. I add ground pepper.
Let it sit after mixing for 30 min to an hour before cooking. “Rest” the batter.
Preheat your dripping (beef tallow, Desi ghee, or high temp oil) for ten to fifteen minutes in the tin to get it ripping hot. Pour the rested batter in, 1/4 full or 1/3 full. Bake 450f for 13 minutes but you might need 18 depending on your oven.
I lived on these during COVID, some baked bread, I perfected my pudding. :)
I saw that batter mix and had no clue what it was! Lol.
Sausage grease rocks, but instead of a vegetable oil use “desi ghee” or clarified butter. It has a high smoke point and gives everything a lovely buttery flavour.
If doing it at home in the oven, go high, 450F to start and cook for 15 minutes, check it. You could also air fry this, but I find it needs a flip, so not perfect for toad in the hole, but brilliant for a single serving portion. For the air fryer I use a stainless steel dog food bowl. 😊
You deep fried yours, and it looked great! Guess what I’m going to be making for lunch?

Wow! Great effort, looks bloody nice and it’s given me the confidence to have a go. I don’t think I would have taken it all off the heat, rather just add the oil after removing sausages etc and put the flame out with a closed simmer ring. You’ll melt the O ring inside the lid. I will definitely give this a go, thank you for the inspiration 👍🏻

Thinking about weight/bulk and convenience whilst bikepacking with a T28 I reckon I could achieve something similar using a pancake ready mix, the type you just add water only. I've done sausage and mash a few times with T28 and it worked well. I vacuum seal a lot of my stuff then freeze it, I then transfer it to a small foil envelope yes keeps it cool all day even in hot weather. I don't mind MRE's but sitting around at night cooking something with a couple of beers, breaking bread with a mate is more fun for me. Love your series on the Trangia, really useful.

The food looked very nice and the crunch made me want to cook some up myself😂. I was thinking. Why don't you ask your subscribers what they would want to see you cook. You will probably get some interesting suggestions. You no you enjoy a challenge😂

Have ya tried , rather than putting onions straight into oil, putting them into a small amount of water first. As it boils it takes the harshness out of the onion and they cook down better. Basically just boil the water off…

Hi mate, no, I've never tried that, but I do like a fried onion 😋 thanks for the tip. I will give it a go, thanks for watching 👍

Lol, most likely, I've moved away from non-stick now but agree it would probably not last the cooking process. Thanks for commenting 😀
