As a former student there and current driver, this is a good refresher for STPR! Thanks Wyatt.
I'd went there for the first day! Was pretty amazing to watch, especially with the lad that put the dukes of hazard horn on his impreza.
Keep it up, perfect videos to help you rally.
It would be awsome if you did a video of explaining the basics of cornering, what happens when you brake during the corner vs before, how to avoid understeer and how to induce some oversteer, etc. This might seem really basic but a lot of people who are starting in rallying dont know it.
Thanks! Keep the good work!
Thanks Wyatt and the team for the quick tips!
hope can have a series including increasing radius corners, corners with outward bank, inward bank, etc
We'll keep going, but for corner banking we already did: ruclips.net/video/U-V8sza8SAQ/видео.html
This is the first vid (among many of their informational video) that I have seen that they did not explain how to perform the turn step by step..
I guess they need to keep the business running by not sharing too much information.. which is completely understandable
Would be great if you make a giveaway a weekend in your rally school
Great video!
It would be nice to see that corner approach, then a basic 'here is the entry to the corner, apply light/medium/heavy brakes - here we can see the apex its time to apply throttle' sort of breakdown.
you can though. he explains how to do the braking (increasing pressure trough the turn) and you can see the brake light turn off just before the apex. The only thing i don't know is throttle, though I suspect light throttle throughout and rolling into it when the brakes are released
Severijn van Lambalgen I’d say half throttle all the time to stay in boost and 3/4 or even full throttle when left foot braking to not slow down too much.
Very nice, love your vids !
I also want to add, feed steering in slow and predictably (so, you try to meter the steering to never hold the wheel still) and I sometimes tell myself to "don't cut", reminding myself to not dive in early, and to give myself more stability by not correcting or back tracking the steering.
awesome!
Any suggestions in general either chassis, suspension, or just general things to do if I am building a tube chassis rally buggy with a motorcycle engine. Like a cross cart but two seater. Thank you
Just for fun or competition? Lots of good inspiration at www.jimcoracing.com/pages/race-vehicles
Team O'Neil Rally School Thank you, probably no something that big, but more like a cross cart, I have the frame all designed out but you got any general advice
Ok, but when will you release the video?
Helpful info but I really would've like a footwell demonstration, maybe on a couple different corners
i wish i could visite your school some day .
I visited once and I was very impressed. I'd love to sign up for their classes.
@@finngurgens3264 i wish icould i am in syria 😅💸
I'm surprised at the single apex through that corner. Granted you do start off quite wide. Is double apexing on dirt as effective as on tarmac/circuit?
edit: from watching through the whole video I see that the exit actually opens out a bit so I'm guessing even if you do take an early first apex it would be difficult to clip a second?
With a decreasing radius corner, there is only one apex and it's at the tightest part. Up until then, the car should stay out wide.
If you have 2 corners in the same direction separated by a short straight, definitely turn it into one double apex corner... Or if a corner opens then tightens it's 100% the way to go. something like L3 30 L3 would just be one double-apex corner, or L3 < > same deal.
@@Teamoneilrally makes sense. thanks for the speedy reply!
What are the wheel specs on this car?
i want to do all of this rally schools and classes and its a genuine passionfor me and i want to have some sort of automotive career in rally but i cant right now im only 14😭😭😭
Get DiRT Rally 2.0 😁
Get into Karting first. Some of the famous F1 drivers started out in Karting when they were like 5 years old or something. We have more options now than before, like K1 racing, although it's expensive, you would have to compare prices of different Karting associations around your area.
Trail braking into the corner, right?
Yes that's right, late apex too

Aka it was at that moment Jackson knew, he fucked up corners
Who downvotes this?
I crashed on one myself. In a telephone pole at 60mph. Not fun. Dont drink and drive people 😂
