Imagine the opponent just wanted to press surrender but he could not due to the level up animations keeping the button from showing up. It's pure pain.

The level 3 Ascended feel like the most busted thing in the game if they're all out on the field at once. You've got Nasus nerfing every enemy to oblivion while gaining more attack and HP than the enemy nexus, Renekton getting that free 2 damage to everything when he attacks or blocks, Azir replacing your deck with his own rather busted cards and summoning a sand charging when you attack, and now Xerath just dealing a free 5 damage to the enemy nexus and the weakest enemy at the start of every round. Of course, all of that assuming you can last long enough to get them all out on the field and level them up to max. Getting all the Ascended out there is effectively a free win but stalling the game long enough to pull it off is what makes it (debatedly) balanced.
I lose like 50% of my games but when I do get my successive cinematic movies to play like half of them surrender so those losses don't matter. It's so worth playing this deck :D

Sadly Xerath lv 3 does not deal damage upon the destruction of a landmark. However, you could play tahm kench and bayou brunch azir and xerath. Play detain on an ally together with acquired taste on an enemy 10|10 nasus. If you have Renekton and nasus level 2 while sun disk is not flipped yet, you'll get 7 levelup animations. (Tahm, Azir 2, Azir 3, Xerath 2, Xerath 3, Nasus 3, Renekton 3) Then the enemy Nasus strikes tahm and kill him, levels up, flips the sun disc, levels the other three ascendeds and sivir (oh yeah, the enemy also has sivir) And have a grand total of 11 level up animations and 2 sun disc flips on both boards. Part 2 incoming
The other option would be : have 10 attack Nasus and Renekton concerted strike a unit with 11 or more health. The unit struck must capture Azir and you must have Sivir and ¾ Xerath on board. Upon spell resolution, you've leveled up Azir, Renekton, and Nasus, flipped and destroyed the sun disc therefore leveling up Xerath. That alone gets you 9 levelup animations. If the opponent have a ⅚ Thresh, ⅔ kalista, and ¾ lucian, that's an additional 3 animations for 12 lvlup animations and a sun disc flip

Granted, it took an army of them and the Watchers are supposedly THE strongest being in the Void, so the four of them might not win with strength alone. Of course, there's also the fact that Xerath and Azir are stronger than the average Ascended.
with how they treated xerath lorewise in LoR release there is no chance for peace in shurima. till they fix his follower cards, quotes and card flavour text we can assume that 1. entire shuriman lore from the past 7 years is uncanonical (including RoR "water and shade to you") 2. xerath cant be saved and with him, nobody else because he will drag everyone with him.

If anything, it clarifies a lot of the vaguer aspects about Xerath's lore. It certainly doesn't contradict anything we knew up until this point, save for maybe making him a bit larger. It's not IMPOSSIBLE for them come to terms, but it would require a power much greater than themselves to basically force that to happen. Add in TF to benefit from that spellcast in the end to have a 5th lvl up (or 9th if you count the ascended twice)

I think its summon order, not 100% sure tho
the first level up's were left to right, but the second level up's also seem strange to me
From lvl 1 to 2 is from left to right, from lvl 2 to ascended is in alphabetical order
