Love this kind of style, great video, but really wish you could mention that T1 also supports 240 Aio and triple slot graphics card , which is a big advantage over S1
I’m happy to see someone else with both cases making this comparison! I feel like the S1 gets a lot of crap for having lesser thermal performance, but I think people forget that not everyone is putting a 3080 and 5900x in their build. It’s the case I WANT to use, but for some people the T1 is the case they almost NEED to use!
Personally, as much as i would never pick the nzxt h1 over when the ssupd meshlicious has better temps, performance and compatibility, i would also never pick the ghost s1 when the formd t1 has more compatibility out of the box and far better thermals. Also i like the formd desing better. But it's up to preference, for sure. It's incredible to me that in both sizes, wahaha 360 managed to push the boundaries of compatibility so easily. That man is a beast making good sff cases (he made the t1 and the meshlicious). Great piece of content! ( I will admit tho that my beloved formd t1 needs a bit of love to fit a 240 aio LOL, but when you're done, she looks perfect)
I´ve been looking forward to the Ghost S1 for months now, what you have done now is making me uncertain if I want to get the T1 instead. Good job on the video! :)
Nice video, I've just got my T1 last week, my build is still in the progress... As you probably know, you have the option of water cool your T1 with a 120-240mm AIO and have it there for further upgrades. If you're planning to stay on the 65W CPU TDP, you can definitely stick with air cooling. I would suggest you swap your NH-L12 for the NH-L12S (slightly bigger heatsink + 120mm slim fan, pay attention to the ram clearance as well), in which the T1 is config in 2-slot mode to be able to fit NH-L12S, and the PSU is offset using spacers, creating enough room between the PSU and the 3080 FE to push the hot air and extract it via the 25mm fans on the top (I believe this is shown in the OptimumTech video, however, his temps and benchmarks are done with a 240mm AIO + 2x 15mm fans, I'm sure that x2 25mm fans with that setup will perform just amazing). I would recommend using the Arctic P12 PWM 25mm fans, cheap and performance is close to the Noctuas 25mm, plus, they're black, and will match your case :D. Good luck and nice vid again!
Does the 25 mil fans on a 240 aio fit though on top config? I would be surprised if all those cables dont restrict the amount of clearance you have in terms of fan size.
You can't fit 2x 25mm along with the radiator@@pollux_id2557 I've managed to fit 1x 15mm above the mobo and 1x 25mm above the PSU. Radiator on top (EK 240 AIO). Custom cables are a must!
Having recently purchased the Meta Customs spine, I thought it might be helpful to know that now it comes with an offset PSU bracket that allows for better airflow as well as the option to add a top exhaust fan. With that setup the Ghost might be even closer in temps, but I'll report back once I have the fan bracket for the top exhaust (without a top hat)!
Do let me know how you go and if your temps are similar or better! I’m contemplating about doing an SFF build with the ghost s1, just a little hesitant with the temps and not having spine mod for day one. I’m planning to stick in an rtx 3080 ti with an i9 9900k until 12th gen intel comes out!
The biggest difference in both cases is the hardware compatibility and the fact that the T1 can be water cooled with an AIO or even with a custom loop right out of the box, where the Ghost S1 needs a top hat. This not only increases the price but also the overall volume of the case an ruins the aesthetics in my opinion. For the people which want to go air cooled must be a difficult decision, but for me it was an easy one, because I knew I will custom loop my T1 from day one and I am extremely happy with the result and the overall quality of that case.
Nice review. I have had my Ghost for about 2 years now and love it but the T1 is the only case I would consider replacing it with. I have the same feet on my Ghost and you are right the included ones are junk.
Ghost S1 was good back then, inspiring a number of other cases design. Today, I think the design of Ghost S1 is simply outdated as other manufacturer has moved to more space optimized and better cooling options.
If your CPU cooler orientation is as shown on 1:10, it'll reduce the cooling performance. Don't point the heat pipe tip down. Noctua website will show you this in FAQs. Also, try swapping your thermal paste. I used Corsair TM30 thermal paste first and my 5900X throttled at 90C but when I changed to Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, it dropped to 80C running Cinebench.
Definitely would if I could. I tried putting the heat pipe tips facing up, but this configuration causes the NH-L12 Ghost Edition to interfere with the case's fan rails. I used Noctua's NT-H2 thermal paste, and reapplied when switching cases. The performance should be roughly the same as Kryonaut
Check out the taobao cube X1. It basically Trump's both cases, EXCEPT fitting only 2.7 slot GPUs, not 3 slot like the formd t1. Importantly, it is able to fit 20-25 mm radiators with 25-38mm fans, allowing for WAAAY better custom loop cooling through the top radiator I built my system (3090 plus overclocked 4.9 GHz 8700k, both watercooled) in it and it's pretty awesome!
You should definetly do a follow up when the V1.5 T1 is released, the V1/1.1 wasn't meant to mass produced and because of that isn't as refined. The overall fit and finish of the V1.5 will be better and will have even better radiator and gpu compatibility too.
Such a great video!! Love how much you focus on the small details

Why get ghost tho? Not like its significantly smaller than t1
@@skytreegirl6929 fair question - you can actually buy the Ghost on Amazon but the T1 is rarely available for most people looking to buy a case
@@poobalu fair response; the t1 v2.0 will be out soon, hope the production increases and im able to buy it.
Totally agree with that statement.
the production quality is right up there with the top channels 🔥🔥🔥🔥
High quality video right here. Nice!
great comparison, well written
Excellent comparison, thanks for doing this
After watching this video i decided to buy dan case a4. 😁
I got the Lian Li (x Dan) A4 H2O case and I don't regret it!
The price was just too good compared to the T1 for something almost as small

How can you make such a high effort video yet overlook really important things like GPU support (2v3 slot) Either way great production
Which one should I buy? The Ghost S1 or FormD T1 ?
Nice comparison with good information.

What software do you use to capture and log your thermal data and what program do you use to create the graphs? It's super clean and looks great!
Thank you! I use HWiNFO64 to log the thermal data to CSV and then Excel to create the graphs

Keep up the good work :)
Hey. Can you please drop a model of bottom NZXT cooler with aluminum safety rad to spin fan safely?

What keyboard is that?
KBD67 Lite. Absolutely fantastic board
Formd obviously especially v2
SHEESH IS THAT A 3080
Giveaways some itx case that extra case
the ghost has horrific qc, very poor finishing
In my opinion, lian li a4 h2o is cooler and cheaper.
