Bourne Historical Society: Reading Frederick Douglass Together at Aptucxet June 13, 2024

Bourne Community members were invited to a Juneteenth celebration at Aptucxet which included a communal reading and discussion of Frederick Douglass’s 1852 speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” The Juneteenth celebration brought Frederick Douglass’s enduring words to life and fostered a deeper understanding of our shared history.
