I've just watched episode 10 and it was so sad... I had to make a video on Spartacus and Varro's real friendship and how it so unfortunely ended.
I'm just addicted to this series. I'm afraid more videos are yet to come.
So, clips belong to Spartacus: Blood And Sand. The song is just called "End Titles" from A Very Long Engagement soundtrack by the composer Angelo Badalamenti.
Damn this was a sad scene. They were the best of friends, they both looked after each other. Varro was such a good man, who wanted to right his wrongs.
This scene was so depressing when I first saw it. It still brings me to tears till this day. This show took me by surprised and sad to see it end.
The real sad thing is this actor the one who is playing Spartacus died at a young age after he did the first season of the show.

Awful, a man seemingly in his prime and then death.

Just rewatched season 1, and this is soooo sad. Especially when Varro asks Spartacus to provide for his family after his death and knowing that that is what Jai Courtney (Varro) has done for Andy Whitfield's family after his death. Even becoming the godfather to Andy's children. Best mates on tv and in real life! RIP Varro, RIP Andy...
My God.. I just watched this again after many years..and it still brings me to tears. Bless you Andy and Jai.
What the fuck... Really... Why break a friendship like that? And that shit was low, the best friend had to kill the best friend. I love the show but this scene broke my heart, I still cry every time I watch this. I miss Varro. I miss the bromance. Spartacus will never be the same without these two awesome men.

I remember seeing this scene for the first time and I was caught off guard. Truly a depressing scene.
Watching sparticus break down after this was heartbreaking... He was always a strong man but killing his best friend completely broke him, he had nobody... Then watching mira try and comfort him...
They weren't friends... They were brothers.
This death hit me hard i have never scene a death like this on tv especially from his best friend wtf

I was completely devastated by Varro's death:
- He deserved better
- It wasn't supposed to happen
- LOVED his friendship with Spartacus (wish it lasted a bit longer)
- I was pissed we wouldn't get to see him (with his curly hair) on screen anymore as he was one of my favorites
- My consolation prize was to found out that Andy Whitfield & Jay Courtney were really great/close friends in real life
Then Andy died:
- It started all over again
It would have been awesome to see Varro as part of the rebellion, if he had lived that long...
This has to be the most touching scene I've ever seen on any show/movie. R.I.P. Varro.

Omg dude... DO NOT watch the whole show then unless you want to cry more. It gets so much more painful for Spartacus when his is blaming himself.
Onemeaus.... Crixus... Gannicus.... Aggron being crucified... Then finally sparticus himself... Watching them fall one by one... Its heartbreaking. But what's more is sparticus meeting crassus (the man who ultimately defeats him) and I have never known a better antagonist. Crassus admires sparticus greatly despite the fact they are enemies. The richest man in Rome comes to admire and respect the king of slaves.
Barely watched this episode last night and it's the most fucked up thing I've watched in a show. TEARS

In my opinion, you showed this scene a lot better than HBO itself did. If it did those flashbacks and this music that you've put on, I bet it would have been classed as the best episode in Spartacus.

I always hated this part, all for entertainment for that little brat. Part of me wanted to see him dropped, but it would spell doom for Spartacus too.

Old man Lucius was also Roman, and he aided Spartacus and the rebels. I admit Varro's death was crucial in his final decision, but if somehow Varro were to find out that Sura died by the hands of Batiatus, he would at least have helped to overthrow the house of Batiatus like Aurelia did. Sure, his death was a critical plot point, but I think his survival would have been easier on my heart...

But he was Roman & had a wife & a kid to provide for, remember? Also, Varro's death may have been the last thing that indulged Spartacus to take these actions. I remember him finally accepting his faith/slave status before Varro died.

As far as I know, this is historically wrong. Debt slaves who are otherwise free roman citizens, cannot be toyed such way. Even the jews thousands of years before that had different treatment for debt slaves and other (actual) slaves.

You can't upload studio quality clips of a movie or show without some form of editing from the original unless you want it to be taken down. People put music on all these clips because it evades copyright infringement.
If you want to find a "Good quality" one without music, you gotta look somewhere else, not on RUclips.
