      @ My hometown is a very poor small mountain village in western Sichuan. I was born in the 1980s. When I was a child, there were no roads and transportation was inconvenient. It took me 6 hours to walk back and forth to go to the market on mountain roads. In 1998, we started raising funds to build a village road. Due to insufficient funds, it was all manually built. A 5-kilometer road took 9 years to build, and it was only completed in 2007. The road condition was very poor, and small cars could not drive. In 2013, the country hardened the cement road for free, but it was still a one-way road. In 2020, the road was widened, changed to a two lane road, and asphalt pavement was laid. It only takes 10 minutes to get home. Now there is simple free medical care in rural areas, and a 200 kilometer per hour railway also connects to the urban areas of 5-line cities. People travel more conveniently and frequently. In the past 10 years, I feel that there have been significant changes in transportation. The speed of 350 kilometers per hour rail transit has been increasing year by year. Unfortunately, I have not experienced it before. I am a homebody [covering my face] [covering my face]

    Greedy oil companies that’s why. America could’ve built walkable cities like western Europe, Japan, China, and Singapore did but we missed that chance because after World War II they wanted more automobile sales, which made America more dependent to boost the sale of cars and that’s when things really took a turn for the worst. They had to start bulldozing entire neighborhoods and buildings to build urban highways and in most cities and suburbs parking lots take up nearly a quarter of all the available land, and now we are starting to see the consequences of there is no public transportation or walkable infrastructure in most areas which means most Americans are less healthy less independent and less who don’t even have a family to help them and unfortunately, there is not an easy or affordable way to fix it

    I found these were VIP class which I do recommend. I don’t recommend first class seats on bullet trains… they are bigger than standard seats but what I experienced is low paying customers all standing around (ie No Seats at all) and over your first class seats taking all the luggage space as well so you cannot put your bags anywhere. So a big NO to First Class seats on bullet trains in China. You’re better to buy either VIP or standard seats only. That was my experience in the last few weeks.
    Otherwise the bullet trains are great.

    • @jackoneill28
      @jackoneill28 16 дней назад

      They pay the same. They are probably in a hurry, so they couldn't get a seated ticket. Or they are just going for some short distance travel, so they don't mind standing.

    • @peterfischer5459
      @peterfischer5459 16 дней назад

      @ I think you’re probably right, but if you pay for a first class seat, you should be able to put your bags away comfortably and not have your chair crowed around so you can’t read in privacy or be on your phone in privacy, eat, drink and not be crowed over, sneezed or coughed on.
      Not my idea of first class at all. Even if they are nice people, which I’d be inclined to think they are 🥰. This is the fault of the train company not the people. The people will take what they can whenever they can.
      It’s the same with queues & hawk tuahing, in China. There has been MASSIVE improvements regarding both of these issues in China since I first travelled there in 1994, but even now, there is room for improvement.
      Don’t get me wrong, as it stands now, I could easily live in China, but one always striving for better. I wanna see China as number 1 in the world as they are already on so many other things. ❤️🥰
