      Trustworthy of what? Trust isn't independent of tasks. This is why nuance is so important. To apply, we need to dig deeper into the practical mechanics.

    Where can I find people like you in this world to build such a trustworthy team? I really want what you are talking about because I understand that with the right people on the right bus towards the right cause, you'll succeed even if it means failing a 1000 times before getting it right. A team that doesn't break apart after the nth failure. And that success should be in the first place to bring true and massive amounts of value to your customers, the world.
    I'm in Australia and this is my biggest issue: how and where to find them?
    Please reach out.
    Authentically,
    Davido.

To me, there’s no hard skill out there that can overcome what a tight-knit group of people can build together. Thanks for this great content!

    This is my main struggle. Building my teams. I have the idea of my start up, I am working on the development and designs myself with CAD and 3D printing which I purchased and testing the design. I have no idea how to find people for my team. Then there is the issue that these people are people who I do not know, and we have not worked together before, and then when I add people to the team when I figure out how to find and get people, if they align with the people I already have because they are not going to know each other at first, nor worked together on things.
    I also have no cash flow or money to pay a salary, no one works for free and people want regular income, I Think I will also struggle to find people with aligned belief's as I am in renewable energy, most of the groups online I am in are people who have no interest what so ever in capitalism, and do not like it, which is the opposite of what I need, as I think people need to understand the need for capitalism for any business to succeed.
    I just don't understand how and what I need to do to get my team. With no money and no network of people, I don't see how I can build a team. I am just continuing by myself for now maybe I should start posting about what I am doing and why I am doing it to get some potentially interested and people wanting to be apart of what I am doing? But then again, my designs are my own designs and something very different, so I don't want people stealing them, as they are game changing. I really don't know.

    • @GarryTan
      @GarryTan  3 года назад +1

      These things are hard. I recommend spending more time building those networks and those savings for capital so you can get the chemical reaction going. You need people and money to start, and while some startups can be started without either, most are not like that.

    • @optimusprime699
      @optimusprime699 3 года назад

      @@GarryTan Thanks Garry, I will put more time into cultivating my network, and creating a channel discuss what I am doing, I think Elon Musk has been incredibly successful in the marketing of SpaceX as he lets all the fans on the journey and involve them with what is going on. Great marketing. I will try to do a similar thing maybe to build interest and get people into my network as maybe one way of growing it and meeting people. But obviously rockets and space are super cool and interesting, I think energy and renewables are, but they do not come with the same glamour as space travel and 'coolness'...Maybe I can try to make it cool lol

    "Can you get through fire together?" I've known my potential co-founder for only 4 months - but they are a career firefighter (retired) and I'm a career firefighter. Garry this is a great video about aligning everybody in an organization. I often wonder about people who would be excellent at the top of an organization getting stuck in the doldrums at the bottom because, as you say, there is infighting and war within the organization. I think this comes from people thinking there are only so many seats at the dinner table, and if the new guy is good he's gonna take my precious janitorial mop and closet from me! Oh no! Haha, well I hope that the higher-ups in such organizations can spot talent when they see it and help people flourish. There's no end to the amount of stuff that needs to be done, and we need skilled and intelligent and savvy and kind people to do it. So hopefully all the shining stars get a chance to shine brightly, instead of getting stuck in the mire. Thanks a lot for your videos, I really appreciate them.

    Hey Garry, can you guide me on my next step? I have an idea for a mobile social networking app, and I've made the wireframe for it already. I've tried looking for a freelancer on Upwork and Freelancer, but those people seems like frauds. I almost hired one, till I noticed that he's got the same review for 2 of his projects. A whole paragraph review that is almost identical. I also encountered 2 that claimed to have made the same app. It's really hard to vet freelancers since they can just upload pictures of apps and claim to be the creator. Now I'm just browsing LinkedIn to see if I can find one.
    Also, if I was to offer equity to a tech co-founder, how much would developers normally expect? I have a small budget, so I might not be able to pay for the whole project.

    Hey Gary it's a great video. I also believe more in the team than the idea itself.
    It will be great if you can give your thoughts on why to focus on people in friend circle or you worked before
    Is it worth to convince someone in your known group to work on the startup? Because I feel my pitch can pump them but maybe when things get difficult then they will lose the interest. However, if you meet people who are more passionate about starting their own business because they want to do more than just a small part of a big system or working on something interesting is important than financial security.
    Now if we decide to work together first and then decide to work on the startup then why not start working on the startup itself. If you think that makes sense it will be great to know what kind of discussion someone should have before teaming up.
    Thank you

    • @GarryTan

      Trust is an important part of teams. You need people who are smart and trustworthy to create great things together. Otherwise you'll get stuck either making the wrong thing with people who aren't skilled enough, or you'll get stuck with people who you can't work with.
