your drawings are so colourful and full of energy, this was an absolute delight to watch!! i'm glad i'm not the only one adding tons of random thoughts and comments beside my sketches ahaha
The faces at time stamp 2:24 have to be made favorite. Your perspective and the way you draw the lines of the human figure are crazy. Even the movement in you dance stage drawing have so much life. Good luck!
Omg congrats!!! Your drawings are so dynamic and colorful and have so much energy ahhhh i love it so much :-)!!!! Good luck in calarts!! Looking forward to seeing your films if u decide to post them
Congrats on your acceptance! I just found your channel through this, and the super cute combo of the chipper music (and mf doooooom) and your colorful, fluid art is incredible 😩 can I ask how long you’ve been drawing for? I can’t wait to see more art from you!
Dude. I love you. I love Calarts and sketchbooks of that nature, and I'm a huge fan of Ginger root. when I started the video I thought my earbuds were glitching connecting to my playlists.
congratsss!!!!! I love your sketchbook! I'm looking to apply next year, your sketchbook gave me hope to get in because it actually looks like a sketchbook. All I see are the crazy ones that look more like completed works that a sketchbook.
yess thank you sm!! calarts actually only weighs the importance of the sketchbook around 15%. from what i know, they prioritize the portfolio and artist statement, and they want to know from your sketchbook that you can adapt and build on ideas, rather than making fully finished works!
I Love this! We did something similar where we live out. This video actually gave us inspiration and hope that we can still become successful, thanks so much for this video.
First of all I love your sketchbook and congratulations at getting accepted. And I was just wondering I you go through and clean up your sketchbook? I’m just curious if I should be cleaning up mine for college apps in the future.
THIS IS AMAZING, CONGRATULATIONS! HAVE A WONDERFUL JOURNEY AT CALARTS! I've been trying to find a good mix media sketchbook that doesn't bleed too much, which one did you use?
YEAAAS the artist is thatskidding and she has an online shop where she sells them !!! the shop is under maintenance rn but here’s the link for whenever it opens : thatskidding.bigcartel.com/
GAH THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL JUST LIKE MAKES MY TOES CURL. Hm excuse that prior reaction, that sketchbook is a Moleskine, is it the watercolor one or the art one? ( CONGRATS ON CALARTS 🎉🎉🎉, very late i apologize)
Im speechless this is amazing! it is soooo inspiring!!! your artworks are so alive and fresh! and perspective work is fantastic! Could i ask you something? Do you draw your works with liner straightaway or you sketch it with pencil before?
hi !!! It definitely depends but I think for most of these I went straight in with pen! With more complex stuff I like to plan things out lightly in pencil, but practicing going straight into pen can make you a much more confident artist c:
This is amazing! I am a beginner artists. Are there any good books you recommend on the fundamentals especially observational drawing? Its hard to do studies and improve when you cant draw what you see. Or if there arent any books, jusy advice at improving at observation? Your art is so great!
Tysm!! I used a bunch but I’ll try my best to list them all here: • tombow fudenosuke brush pen for inking • soft marking pen (highlighter pack, I found it at daiso!) • pentel color pen fine point # s360 (blue and green) • prismacolor premier markers • posca paint pens • mildliner highlighters I think that’s everything lol!
This is an awesome sketchbook! Can you please tell me what the deadline is for submitting works, I know it's January 5, but what month does this reception start, I'd like to know this interval
I’m an idiot and I’m wondering if you sketched your art out before finalizing it with ink and then paint. Am I right to think that? I’m just wondering because I’m horrible at art
Nah man you’re all good! Honestly it depends on the sketch, but I think in this sketchbook I tried with most drawings (if not all) to go directly into pen / whatever medium I was using without doing construction lines. I did this so I could gain more confidence and control in the way I made my lines :]
Hi!! Unfortunately I don’t know specifically what they did or didn’t like about my sketchbook, but I’m able to know more about what they liked / didn’t like about my portfolio (the most important part of the application!) it’s on my gumroad in the description if you’re interested!

Hi, I got them at daiso!
omg!!!1 when did u start the sketchbook????
hi!! I started on November 13th and finished on Jan 1st!
Congratulations! I was wondering if you got any scholarships with this admission into the program?
Hi there! I didn’t get scholarships, but I got grants because I’m lower income!
Idk if you already answered this but what brand of sketchbook is that?
Hi, I used a moleskine!
do u know what they loved/didnt liked about ur sketchbook ?? incredible work tho

What type of sketchbook is that? :0
Because I think you're using ink and alcohol markers 👀
It’s a moleskine sketchbook! It’s pretty resilient with all mediums :]
@@jackiem6728 oh, wow! Looks Cool!
sooooo you ARE allowed to have nsfw in a sketchbook? :000
figure drawing is necessary for animating and isn’t considered nsfw
