- Was lovely to be back ringing two solid quarters again in London with some great ringers. Despite setting up the camera for Stedman Caters later in the day, nothing was captured sadly. Though safe to say, it was a great quarter with a fine composition.
Here, we are at Chelsea Old Church for 1280 Bristol Surprise Major. A lovely 10cwt ring of 8 in Ab cast in 1977 by Whitechapel - with the exception of the 3, cast in 1957. They go very well, almost too well around the front, perhaps due to the intermediate level above.
You definitely captured two of the prettiest leads here - the rollups were excellent! A very respectable effort on a pretty but not altogether easy little eight 🙂
These are brilliant!
These are great
Im a big fan of the treble ringer
Of course you are! He’s one of bell-ringings greatest RUclips celebrities!
They're a nice ring
I find these similar sounding to St James Garlickhythe.
Same here; cast by the same founder 33 / 55 years apart, same key virtually, very similar weights but different accoustics.
@@ar_ringingvideos7428 I find rings from the 1970s to be more refined even if they are Mark 1. The tuning is much more perfect and sound more like a modern peal compared to a vintage 1950s or 30s. If you listen to Westminster Abbey they sound perfect and musical.
They are quite pretty, but too quiet, the brick tower and long draught don't help that either. It's a fabulous church though
@@simonbellringer You can hear the clapper knock which in my view is disappointing. I think the bells would sound much better below.
@@ar_ringingvideos7428 The acoustics were disappointing for me. The striking however is top notch! Keep up with the good content!
I have been there in 2012.
too well?! 😂
