Wow amazing. If I blew my wing up that bad, I'd be pretty bummed assuming it was done. Cost of an alula unit- definitely worth resuscitating it.

Fantastic job Jeff! Very professional... Most people don't realize the skill required. You are correct about the main seam... it's a bear! Thanks for sharing:)

Repairing certain foil kite tears is even more difficult, there is lot more details and layers of fabric, up to nine in some parts of the kite.
Challenge with these is light weight materials which are under high tension, especially in wings which have thick LE diameter. Also tricky positions for sewing makes these not so easy work like almost all canopy tears are. It is much easier and faster to repair 1.5m long canopy tear than 15cm long LE blow out.
The more you undo the main seam the easier it is to work with the damage but there is additional work to undo and close that seam for longer distance.

That leading edge seam construction is a mess. Double folded seam and lots of glue. These repairs take a lot of time. Jeff you might mention the amount of time this takes. Nice job.

Nice job. What does a repair like that cost?

      Say 4 hours x $100/hour = $400?

@@minhongz Not going to happen in 4 hours. He used 1.5 hours for undoing the seams
