Just wanted to let everyone know that I studied Government and Politics A-Level and obtained an A* (398/400 overall UMS), and absolutely LOVED Gov P1. Staying up-to-date with current affairs is part of my degree (I study Law at University), and I found the evolving nature of the module really interesting and exciting. Once you get to University, you can't just learn from a textbook and recite old statistics and quotes. This A-Level helped me realise that, and encouraged me develop valuable research skills! :)
+cocoabutter97 don't get me wrong I love staying up to date with current affairs but politics moves so fast that my papers weren't relevant 48 hours after I wrote them!
I only have to go in to get one exam result (I'm in year 10 and was forced to do statistics for no reason) and I'm still shitting myself. Imagine me next year, I'm gonna be crying about 11+ subjects.
I just finished A-Level politics and now at uni doing international politics and security, honestly year 2 was so much better for me, American politics was so much more interesting
Eve I just wanted to say thank you! Your videos were so helpful during my Leaving Cert (the Irish equivalent to A-levels) and next Monday I'm moving away to go to the university of my dreams. I never really believed they would accept me but my grades were way higher than I expected and part of that is down to you and your videos. Thank you so much Eve 💕
I do A-level Politics and despite that it is a challenging subject which requires a lot of work, it is interesting. There are some areas that I do not enjoy, such as the uk government section which focuses on things such as the judiciary and the constitution, but other areas I absolutely love such as the topic of ideologies ie liberalism and conservatism. Overall I would encourage people to take it but there are some parts which will bore you to death lmao
Woah! I had no idea you wanted to be a diplomat! I'm studying at the moment to pass the exam to become a diplomat in my country. Could you make a video about why you want to go into this career? I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see it.
I did edexcel politics, I hated the second exam "Governing the UK", it just never went well for me. But glad I got a B overall. Honestly it's inportant to learn statistics, examples, structure and keep up to date on current affairs.
Hi Eve! Just wanted to let you know how helpful this channel was to me during exam season. It's so motivational and really helped me get the results I wanted this year! Thank you so much! X
Eve you totally missed out, pressure groups is actually the BOMB. Some real banter from the UK pressure groups they're hilarious!!!! I've just finished A2 Politics (also AQA) and absolutely loved it x
Hey Eve, I think we might be the same person at times - I also want to be a diplomat and study languages at Oxford. Only I study French and German at the moment. We even share the same name, Eve
I'm doing CCEA government and politics and looking at the specification it's literally everything I like about politics. NI Politics and political parties, British politics, British constitution, legal and judiciary system in U.K., comparing the politics of the U.K. & Ireland and understanding Communism, Socialism and Conservatism.
Please do a back to school haul soon if you manage to get the chance! I'm going school shopping next weekend (leaving it a bit late...) and could really use some inspiration for stationary etc :-))
Snap squad🌸🌸🌸!! Whose here hoping eve can calm our results anxiety? Because same. Petrified also jealous how shes in switzerland/france with all the french whilst we await results☹️☹️
*Hey Eve,* I would love to thank you for everything you're doing for us subscribers (I'm one of them). I'm been watching so many of your videos lately and I just wanna say that *I AM PERSONALLY AMAZED* by the great personality you have. You're such an amazing girl; smart, beautiful and kind (I mean I have no negative views to give about you), you're in my opinion my *Dream Girl*. I would've loved to be your friend or be able to meet you one day, *LIKE SO BADLY*, you got me motivated day by day, and because of you I've decided to change... Not to be like you, but to at least try, because gaved me that enough hope to stand up and make some changes before it's too late. I would love to say that I'm more than proud of the success your leading urself to, and I wanna be able to make my family proud as u did to show them that I'm *MORE THAN CAPABLE TO SUCCED*... *THANK U SO MUCH EVE AND KEEP IT UP* *Have an amazing day eveyone!!!*
Before turning 18 I literally couldn't give two hoots about the government and voting but, now that I'm 18 it's put those thoughts into a different prospective!! P.S you are beautiful inside and out!! 💖
I've chosen to study politics at A-level and I know I'll really enjoy it! Maybe your dislike for GOVP1 came from your teacher and the lack of interesting lessons. I personally think I'll really enjoy GOVP1 purely because I like subjects which are constantly updating and moving along (I'm also a bit of a crammer so cramming new statistics is ok for me! I know cramming is the best technique but it's worked in the past haha). At least you'll be a bit happier and have a weight off your shoulders now you've dropped Politics! Btw just wanna say thankyou for your GCSE advice, helped me to get all A*s!
THANK YOUU SOOOO MUCH for this video as I'm deciding my A levels tomorrow and was debating whether to take politics or not and this video has really helped decide -lots of love 💕💕 p.s love you channel
Apart from that thank you so much for this though! I was debating taking politics at A level because I want to do a similar thing as you. What do you think about taking law? Xx
law is a very 'iffy' subject, not many sixth forms offer it so literally no law based university course requires it (if you plan to go into a law degree). Law teachers can also be very hard to come by, so unless you have 1 committed teacher or 2-3, I wouldn't recommend it.
Moonlight gem 123 I say maybe history, since that'll show that you can write an essay, or maybe psychology or sociology, I don't have the best input though since I'm leaning towards a history degree for myself
Even though I'll never do a levels in general as I'm halfway through an equivalent program (IB if you've heard of it?) I found this vid really interesting! Can't wait for the English one🤗🤗 also, definitely need a video on mindmaps, I use them for both my English course and my politics but could always use some advice!
I don't take any of the subjects you take😭 I might take Maths, Bio and Chem but unfortunately you don't take these subjects so I can't ask for advice☹️
UnJaded Jade is another channel that does revision videos, and she is doing maths, bio, chem, and english lit at a-level so maybe you should check out her channel!
Your experience was the opposite to mine! I went from adoring English at the start of A-levels and wanting to do it at university and not sure what I thought of politics to loving politics and detesting English! Now I've just finished a politics degree and hoping to start a politics masters this September!
hey eve, im thinking about taking this for A Levels, im really interested in a particular side of politics where matters are discussed and rules are discussed such as the recent vote in ireland to repeal the 8th ammendment. DO you think id enjoy politics, let me know if thats okay, thank you
Are you still planning on becoming a diplomat and also why do you want to become one? Just asking cause I’m interested in careers with languages since i study French and Spanish.
I'm not even doing A Levels (I'm doing IB instead) but I still watch all your A Level videos and enjoy them 😂❤️ All your channels are just amazing! Btw how are you liking it in Geneva? I live there and I'm really interested to hear what you think 🇨🇭❤️❤️❤️
Its so strange I'm only in year twelve but im literally having the same experience of government and politics- UK politics which is basically gov p1 is absolutely awful and i feel like ive learnt nothingggg
Hello comment section, I am currently in year 11 (starting my A Levels in September) and currently, I’ve applied to do Maths, Physics and Computer Science. However, due to all the thinking time I’ve had recently, I kind of want to pick a 4th subject and I’m between Politics (which I have an interest in) and Further Maths (which would massively help my chances of getting into a top uni and it compliments my other choices). Can I have some advice on my situation please? That could be deciding between the two or simply sticking with just the 3... Thanks in advance!
Ngl watching these videos makes me feel productive even though I'm procrastinating from reading my gcse text an inspector calls for English 😂! X (from your snapchat 😉)
Yeahhhh, I was going to take government and politics, tried to read books about it, got so bored but was still going to do it , then I got an 8 in English literature so idk if I should do that for a level instead?
I recently did a video on my A level experience over 2015-2017 I studied Psychology, sociology and English lit/Lang + EPQ ☺️ if anyone is interested- I also did World development at AS x
This is me freaking out over my GCSEs and a level options. I got a place in college for physics, maths, chemistry and English lit. I dont really want to do chemistry. I want to study physics at university. So I'm dead set of physics and maths but imma change English lit and chem to politics... then I only have to do 3... do you think my university would mind if I didnt do 3 sciences?

Wait- With government and politics since it's an old spec, can you still relate some ideas from today to it because I'm doing tge 2150 from 2008 and a lot of it contains info from 60's to 2008. So I'm not sure if CURRENT knowledge is also needed
