Hey everyone, so today I'm sharing something very different. This is my submission to Ryan Leach's July 2022 Composing Competition. The task of the competition was to compose a soundtrack for the given image, maximum 90 seconds long. As some of you may know, for the past year or so, while I couldn't play the guitar, I've been focusing on composition and when I came across Ryan's video I thought this would be a good chance to put my skills to test. I found the image provided to be incredibly inspirational with its style reminiscent of the animation films by Hayao Miyazaki, whose work I've always admired. I hope you'll enjoy this piece. Make sure to leave your impression in the comments. See you soon!
Your entry left me with a sense of hope; a sense that things will be alright...the feeling that you get when you come home after a long absence. Well done.
Thank you very much! I dunno about winning, as I was approaching this more as a challenge to myself as a composer and I just hope that my music will bring joy to listeners first of all.
Beautiful track! I like how calm it is compared to some of the other pieces I’ve listened to, and I especially loved the part beginning at 0:57. Good luck!
Hello Daria, for my ears your Soundtrack sounds very beautiful, and the emotion of it fits perfect to the picture! Wish you all the best for the competition and good luck - hope you win it!!!! Why couldn't you play the guitar for this really long time? Be blessed and Kind regards from Germany, Bettina
Thank you very much. I've shared this before, but in short, the left hand injury that has been bothering me for years got very bad in 2020 and I had to undergo 3 wrist surgeries to fix it. I'm getting close to playing again now so hopefully will be able to put this all behind me soon.
Thank you! Well, I guess the turning point for me as a composer happened when I had to stop playing the instrument due to health issues and switched completely to pen and paper method. This basically transformed the way I think about music and the way I compose. But I have say that all my previous experience as a musician and especially music theory skills I got from my music degree are what made this transition possible in the first place.
Very passionate melody and expressive harmoines which inspires me as a guitarist who composes original music that tells a story for my channel & uses similar visuals matched to the music that represents them so I like hearing music like yours since you created a musical journey that stirs the imagination and has gorgeous tones and intriguing insturmentation. Many many cheers!

Great work! The flute works well and this has a gentle quality to it.
Thanks! I wanted it to sound big and dramatic yet to have pastoral mood as well.
