Got mine 4 months ago, couldn’t be more happy, what a beautiful bike and rides so well! First thing I changed was the brakes, put my codes Rsc, and the renthal carbon bar. 😅 love it!
Sick that bike is a flying machine. I was just at the mill a few weeks ago and rode dog park four days in a row. I saw that bike at the mill too. Hunter and the guys took good care of me. Got to ride with UOSOCAL too.
I have a wonderful 2018 Capra 29er. Wanted to add a second bike to my stable. Trying to decide between a Izzo core 3 and a Jeffsey Core 3. I live in San Antonio Texas for reference.
@@TheOutsiderMTB Well I got to ride a Jeffsey Core 3 on my trail system. It was easier to pedal and climb then my 2018 Capra 29. It was much lighter in every aspic. However, I really missed how well I could corner and eat up the chunk on my Capra. I believe the best choice for me would be an Izzo to complement my Capra for rougher trail. I found the Jeffseys handling a little twitchy. I know the Izzo will be more of the same, but it will climb way better then the Jeffsey and be the perfect choice for big miles and mellow trails. I don't thing I will ever get rid of my Capra. The Jeffsey does not climb tons better then my capra, just better.
Definitely a great bike. My wife just got one in the same color. I have an IZZO. Curious, were you riding in the high or low flip chip? Wonder if you could do a video while riding in each position and tell us what you feel. Thanks.
First time on your channel great looking bike curious of your height and the size. Considering a YT and looks like on a Izzo I’d ride a large, a Capra an XL but I’m right in the middle on a Jeffsy at 6’1”. Thanks!
I ordered the exact bike back in Dec2021. Its expected delivery was March 9. Then in January YT sent me an email saying it was coming early and would be Feb 9, pay remainder of balance. So I did. Then Feb came and went, then orginal delivery date came and went. And YT says they keep customers updated? I had to send them an email asking status. They told me that now the bike would not be in their hands till late June early Sept. Wtf? But you got one now. That was pretty ignorant of them to have me pay early then delay the bike and not even let me know. All the while there were other bikes available elsewhere that have since sold out. They offered me free shipping to make up for this, lol what a deal or I mean joke? Thanks YT.
All good, thx for reply. Picked up a Bronson from LBS, of course more $ for same level components as core4. But they had bike ready to go so,, ride on. All in all YT was going to be my first direct sales bike purchase, and I doubt I'll try it again after this experience. But dam that red is sweet.
@@riprockenx6592 that's a bummer. My YT experience was outstanding but I ordered a bike that was in stock. Congrats on the Santa Cruz. I've had two and loved them both.
I’m new to the so cal area and looking at getting my first MTB. For the trails around the LA and So Cal area what suspension travel do most people seem to be running around here?I was look at a YT Jeffsy or Izzo or Ibis Ripley/Ripmo depending on recommendations.
@@TheOutsiderMTB thank you so much for the quick response. Sounds good then. I just didn’t want to be overbiked. All the carbon core series YT’s are like gold dust at the moment. I’ll keep my eye out for a restock.
Hey Tony, wouild you say its work saving the 1k and waiting for the core 3 size large or do you feel that the core 4 is worth the extra grand? Thanx for the video btw, loved it!
Hey! I was watching some of your videos in norcal, Just wanted some input on how much travel do you think is good for overall trails in the area? I'm in between a ibis ripmo and ripley. I'm average in biking skills but I do want to progress to do more. no bike parks hehe
Have you experienced any issues with pedal clearance on the Jeffsy? I have an XXL Core 4 and I find that I have to be much more careful to avoid pedal strikes on Jeffsy than I did with my previous bike (Salsa Horsethief).
I have the XXL Jeffsy 29 Pro Race (from 2019, before they came out with the Core series), and I'm constantly getting pedal strikes. I don't know how old your Salsa is, but I think generally speaking, bottom brackets sit lower to the ground on newer bikes to give you lower center of gravity for more stability. It's just something you have to get used to.
@@bfg_mtb I have a Jeffsy with 175 cranks and I’ve never gotten a pedal strike ever, although I don’t go up super technical climbs and I’m pretty careful. Maybe you have too much sag?
@@bfg_mtb 2019 Salsa (also my first MTB in > 20 yrs). I get that they'd want lower COG for stability. It was just a surprise change when I got the Jeffsy. It's the only thing I don't love about the bike other than maybe the color. (flat black)

Nice!
I was gonna get a Capra base, but it got discontinued so Im just gonna get a jeffsy core 2 instead. That bike is sick, wish I could have one rn lol
👊
That color is really nice.
The new red looks sick!!
Awesome! I recently got my jeffsy core 3 in assault green and I'm loving it! 😎🙌🏼🔥
Nice!
Mind if I ask, when did you order your core 3?
Thanks, Tony, looks like a nice bike.

Tony - I have the Core 3 of this bike. Do you have a preferred set up (compression/rebound) on the fork and rear shock?
I do but that’s all personal to my stats. It would not transfer to your bike.
YT has a suspension set up on there website.

Should rename it the Jeffsy "Fast AF"
Haha 😉
Did I miss the video where you talked about the facial hair? Because I really feel like we need to talk about the facial hair.
I did a full video on this topic Scott.
Don't want to be "that guy" but that bolt looks like the SS bolt on the yt jacket you're wearing.
It's not exactly but it looks very similar.
