      It is and as you see I overstepped the resin depth. But Kinda got away with it. If it was for someone else I'd be sanding where the lines around it are - they are in the shape of the mould. And the back. but as it's for me, I'm happy :)

    Awe Flash cure! But it wasn't so bad, and you didn't ruin your mold, so it wasn't such a bad deal! It came out really pretty! Love the pink roses!

    At least when it flash cured, it cured clear!!! It turned out beautiful!

      Yeh something I've noticed - when Apex Resin flash cures there's no Yellowing. Next time i'll be using Deep Cast though lol

    I will definitely rewatch this amazing video collab. But I think it really turned out beautifully & with a little bit of sanding I’m sure it will be more sparkly. 🩷💜🩷💜🩷

      Thank you so much! Yes the top polished up with just a little polishing compound. If I'd been making it for anyone else I'd have got it on Marks bit sander

    That came out beautifully in the end. Those roses really do look like real dried roses. I LOVE it. You sounded so deflated when you found it had flash cured and it was not nice to hear. Glad it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be and that made me smile. xx

    I'm so sorry you ended up with a flash cure, but the final result is still absolutely gorgeous. I love the rounded shape of the front of the heart and the flowers fit so perfectly in there :)

      Yes I kinda got away with it. I might get the whole thing sanded off and make a proper mould from it...

      Have fun - but do use a deep cast resin lol. I was lucky to get away with this

    To reduce bubbles in your flowers dip them thoroughly in resin before placing in the mold

      I know, but there are no bubbles in the resin or the flowers, other than the layer that flash cured :)

    Hi Tracey this still turned out beautiful 😍, you mentioned your room was hot if it's anymore than 25 it can make the resin flash cure, iv had a few times when my rooms been to hot, I try to keep it between 23 and 25, hope that helps, thanks for sharing ❤❤❤ xxx

    I’ve had some flash cures and it’s been a lot of work and money wasted. Yours has turned out lovely from the front, you could sand the back and put a coloured layer on it to hide imperfections. I think it’s lovely x

    You could have coated the flowers before you started with the project. Just paint resin on them next time before you put them in the mold. It will reduce the bubbles from escaping the silk because silk is porous. Lovely flower and heart piece ❤

      Thanks, but there were no bubbles in the esin, only the ones caused in the layer that flash cured

    Hi there, new to resin, what happens when "flash cure" happens?x

      It gets very hot and cures crazy fast. Bubbles and with some resins discolours. It happens if you pour too deep for the type of resin you used or if the room you set working in is too warm. Usually it ruins the piece but I sorta got away with it this time 😀welcome to resin, do ask away if you have any more questions

    How did you polish the resin? Ive tried in the past, going through a bunch of grits of sandpaper (I think i went up to 5000 grit) and then using polishing paste but I still couldn't get it shiny

      All I did was a cloth and some polishing compound on the top. The rest I list left as it's just for me 😄
