Take a bow, both of you, for making the video, and doing it so well. The information is so needed by so many people. Puerto Rico could have used everything he could produce for several years.
Harold I hope some do end up in that neck of the woods, I know when we met with Stu not long after the Hurricanes he did mention that many of his units were going towards the east coast. Hopefully some useful RO systems are in use providing needed drinking water.
Hey Guys, Great video!! We have had an avalanche of emails. You both are so real and down to earth-a real pleasure to view all your videos. Thank you so much for your friendship and support. Looking forward to the next installment. Cheers, Stu and Maggie
Looks like your website is down. We're in the process of researching water makers. I'll checking to see if your webpage is up and running tomorrow for more detailed info.
Excellent and very informative. I emailed the guy after the installation vlog and he replied almost instantly; so what he said about response times was on the button. My question was filtering brakish water for tiny home off-grid living. Very interesting stuff. We were quoted years ago, can't remember the price, but it was totally off the charts and we had to forget it. Videos and companies like this give you hope that there are solutions that work and don't cost the earth. Hats off to Stu and a spot on company profile.
Awesome update Paul, we have found a very similar problem in sailing with windvanes. I get there are core elements in the metals and tooling etc to make them and you should indeed be rewarded for your hard work, BUT in marine it really seems like too many people take advantage of that and In see no reason for the exorbitant expense of some of these items like watermakers and windvanes among others.
Adventure Adrift if you want to charge 300% more add the word Marine as a prefix... Just read this: www.bbc.com/news/world-42982959 Watermarked might be big business in Cape town:-)
Appreciate the article Paul, WOW! Miami, London, Mexico City, we had no idea of the serious water issues they faced. Can you believe Sao Paulo had 3% in their reservoir in 2015.
Super video. You have done a great service to your viewers. Stu seems a great and truthful guy. He is the kind of person you like to deal with. Thanks. larry
Sold.... I've been looking for a non-proprietary system put together by someone who knows what they're doing. I'm handy enough to spec-one out on my own, but why not save that trouble and reward Stu?
Great explanation of how watermakers work; and what a cool business. Thanks for making this video. Too bad more companies don’t focus on basic reliable systems with good support like these guys seem to.
Sweet David, sounds like you are still happy. What is the amp draw on that do you know off hand and what PSI do you usually run it at, guessing you have a 21" membrane?
Less is more, and less means fewer things to break/need fixing. We want something that even off the west coast of Africa or far south in the Americas we can find parts for if needed.
this is a great video i like that you were able to talk to them and tell there story, and explain there system and how it works they seem like really nice and concerning people and really want to provide a good product that is simple to maintain and work. thanks . i will buy one as soon as i can.
Sounds good to me,,, At the end of this season, I'll be calling Stu.. been wanting a water maker for a long time..I think this is the right Time and the right company.. thanks for the info .. Cheers
I just bought a boat and need a watermaker. You have had the sun pure system now for over a year. Have you had any issues with it? Do you use it everyday? With the 2 of you aboard, about how many gallons do you use per day? Thanks for your guidance and videos.
Very nice interview. I think most companies like to keep the operation of a water maker in the voodoo category. If it's magic and something that you could never understand, it's worth more, right? I've read enough to at least understand how these things work, and this system with the keep it simple design and quality components looks like a winner! I also love the small company, semi-retired aspect. Nothing more frustrating than calling a company and having to explain something to someone that isn't going to have the answer because you can't talk to THE person that actually built the thing! I love the idea of running a small business from home. It's a dream I have and hopefully some day I'll find that widget to make it come true!
Ken you are right on with your points, if companies can make it seem complicated it is easier to just keep people in the dark and have them buy your proprietary replacements etc. One great reason to have someone who just decided to make them out of need and turn it into a little home business.
That was awesome and very informative. Stu seems like a honest down to earth guy. I shall keep his company in mind if I ever need one of those. Not sure about the wiring though 😉 thanks guys and best from Pyeongchang 🇭🇰
We do not is the short answer, our product water still has around 300ppm and we drink packet juices and make onboard kombucha that help with mineral intake.
Adventure Adrift Is this because an RO machine makes 💯 percent water? I work with an RO in my job as a dialysis nurse and was told it wasn’t safe to drink the final product, though I have at times.
Amazing interview! I work with an RO (reverse osmosis) machine in my job as a dialysis nurse. While the main RO is very complex and is the size of a truck, I work bedside with a much smaller RO the size of a mini refrigerator that I roll around to different buildings in our very large hospital. From what Stu describes, a boat RO is very similar to a dialysis RO that feeds 99% pure water to the dialysis machine. A couple quick thoughts, we’re told to never run the RO with warm water as it will hasten the burn out of the membrane. Also, is it safe to drink the final product which is pretty much 💯 percent water. Don’t plan on any long term cruising in the next few years, but when I do, I’m going to Stu.
We have not heard about the burn out of the membrane in warm water but warm water will decrease significantly the production rate and quite possibly speed up the life of the membrane. It is perfectly safe to drink the RO water, we know some people do add or drink supplements to get the minerals however we do make our own kombucha which we make from the RO water and that nutrients as well as little packeted juice drinks that we add to get minerals back in. Very cool to hear about your use of RO in dialysis, we did not know that was what was used and we thank you for teaching us something.
Hi Guys...great interview, super audio, good camera angles and a lot of fanatic information! I think he's spot on about being simple rather than automated. It's also good to stay in touch with the equipment on your boat!!! Also...sure wish you would have sent an Instagram or something in real time letting us know you were going to Tucson. I live here and have been watching you for a year. Also, I could have probably helped with directions, transportation and many other things. And most important of all, it would have been a pleasure to meet you and say hello if nothing else. I think it may behoove you to let your viewers know where your'e going in real time if you want even more support. Congrats on making a good choice working with Stu! PEACE OUT!
Thanks for the props on the video and so sorry we didn't meet up, apologies for not letting you know we were in Tucson. We do try and keep some up date info on where we are via Twitter or Facebook or some kind of social media and we had done that in the Pacific Northwest, I think we totally forgot about doing that once in Arizona. We will have to work on better communicating real time places and find a good form to do that.
Hey guys. I don't do Twitter or Facebook so maybe I was just counting on Instagram. MYBAD! And....more than helping you get around town, I really dig your channel and your message about sailing with a purpose so I wanted to meet both of you! One of the most down to earth channels in the sailing world. Sailing with a purpose will be my mission as well when I cast off on November of 2020! YOU INSPIRE ME! PEACE OUT!
Great info and it looks like a good system, but I have not been able to open their system for the last couple of days (since your installation video). What's up?
Jeff, that is strange we have heard a few people having this problem. We can access it fine right now with no issues, could it be from certain regions? sunpurewatermakers.com right?
Corporations hate people like this. Great product that can be fixed anywhere in the world and affordable, with real customer service.
Nice!!! This just saved me 2000 dollars. I like Stu. He is like my dad, he always said keep it simple! Thank you Ty and Hillary!
You are welcome Alan, always nice to have nice genuine blokes around to get the real simple stuff done without going the expensive route.
Take a bow, both of you, for making the video, and doing it so well. The information is so needed by so many people. Puerto Rico could have used everything he could produce for several years.

G'Day Stu, hope you get to meet some great chaps and ship some watermakers around the world.
Looks like your website is down. We're in the process of researching water makers. I'll checking to see if your webpage is up and running tomorrow for more detailed info.
Great video. When I need a watermaker you'll be first on my shopping list.

Sweet mate.
I updated my response... very very very interesting

Sailors working for sailors. Have to love this community.
Cheers to that mate!
By sailors for sailors--love it!
I like the moto!
i love the wires sticking in the outlet in the background, done that a few times myself :)
Haha I have never done that but we noticed it when editing, to be fair this was the subfloor of an under construction building.
Looks like a communications cable above the power outlet.........power has 3 wires not two ( earth, neutral, live )
So Cool! Thanks!
Very interesting. I had no idea there was anything other than single unit, custom part systems. Thanks for this video.
No worries Jim, we are not a big fan of anything proprietary that makes it harder to do work on ourselves.
Super video. You have done a great service to your viewers. Stu seems a great and truthful guy. He is the kind of person you like to deal with. Thanks. larry
Appreciate it Larry, sharing what we are impressed with and think will benefit others. Looks like we might have nailed it.
Thanks so much for sharing this video, plus the install video. Super Great!
No worries mate.
That was a very interesting interview with Stu and Maggie on their watermakers. I have an RO system on our water system.
Amazing video guy's. Thank's for sharing.
Cheers Gary.
Very informative. Thanks!
Wow... cool guy. Great resource and interview
Very cool guy, glad you liked the interview.
Thanks a lot for this informative and educational vlog 👍
Cheers Joe, hope we covered the questions we all want to know.
Sold.... I've been looking for a non-proprietary system put together by someone who knows what they're doing. I'm handy enough to spec-one out on my own, but why not save that trouble and reward Stu?
Good way to think of it, we had a similar thought considering how reasonable his prices were and he takes all the guess work out of it. KISS
Thx for this vlog. Been shopping for watermakers and I just emailed Stu.
Awesome mate well whatever you decide I am sure Stu will give you some good advice.
Great explanation of how watermakers work; and what a cool business. Thanks for making this video. Too bad more companies don’t focus on basic reliable systems with good support like these guys seem to.
Awesome info you guy's thank you...
Wow some very good information
Great video ! Lots of good solid information !
Thanks Robert.
Great Vlog guys. Just come across you. Love your personalities and will follow you.
Thanks Derek and welcome aboard.
Seems like a nice system but I wonder who wired his shop!
Noticed the same thing on the left Frank, it is a new building and that was an unfinished subfloor so I am sure that will change.
Thanks guys - just thinking about watermakers and not surprised that stu says he has lots of customers already in Australia :-))) BB
No worries Bill.
I actually have one of sun pure water maker got it back in 2015 it works great. Have the D.C. 1 horsepower
Sweet David, sounds like you are still happy. What is the amp draw on that do you know off hand and what PSI do you usually run it at, guessing you have a 21" membrane?
Super informative, this is an awesome option!
Great option and at the very least gives great insight for more considerations.
I have an engineering background, I like the KISS principles on his systems.
Less is more, and less means fewer things to break/need fixing. We want something that even off the west coast of Africa or far south in the Americas we can find parts for if needed.

Good to hear this was helpful for you Cory, it is always nice to meet other genuine people not looking to get rich.
Sounds good to me,,, At the end of this season, I'll be calling Stu.. been wanting a water maker for a long time..I think this is the right Time and the right company.. thanks for the info .. Cheers
No worries David, hope we covered most of what people want to know by approaching it from our point of view.
I just bought a boat and need a watermaker. You have had the sun pure system now for over a year. Have you had any issues with it? Do you use it everyday? With the 2 of you aboard, about how many gallons do you use per day? Thanks for your guidance and videos.
very informative thank you
You are most welcome.

How are the games going?
Very cold, super windy with many events cancelled because of that.... I wish I was on a boat somewhere lol...
Wind and cold sounds even colder, how windy and why are they cancelling? We guess because they are aerial events?
indeed, way too much wind for the super Gs, jumping and slaloms.....
This is the type person I like to deal ,thanks for this vid.
No worries Roger, exactly why we wanted to post this. Just a genuine bloke who knows his stuff and isn't in it for the big bucks.
Very informative.........thanks
No worries William.
Hi guys, how do you go about remineralising your product water?
We do not is the short answer, our product water still has around 300ppm and we drink packet juices and make onboard kombucha that help with mineral intake.
Adventure Adrift Is this because an RO machine makes 💯 percent water? I work with an RO in my job as a dialysis nurse and was told it wasn’t safe to drink the final product, though I have at times.
Seriously......awesome video!!! Thank you for such an informative video!! Now I know where to buy our water maker from! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
No worries, we do have whatsapp btw and Hillary will send it through when she gets service on the phone.
Adventure Adrift awesome! Thank you guys

have you guys made Stu to popular and crashed his website, couldn't get it to load. Good info from your video though
He emailed us to mention he has received an incredible amount of emails, hopefully his site is back now.
Wow I would have a water maker from this guy, thank you so much for sharing I have his email and I will thank him as well.
No worries Terry, cheers.
Good PEOPLE
Much love Frank.
Okay I just have to ask....What the devil is that fancy wiring over Stu's right shoulder? ;)
Haha we didn't notice that until the editing, that is the subfloor and is under construction.
I think you guys created enough popularity to crash their website. I hope he gains sales from this!
Good bloke deserves a few sales, hope people learned a few good pointers as well.
