Sir Why Gas entered bottom of scrubber, why not from Top please elaborate.

The gas is entered from the bottom of the column to increase the contact time of gas and liquid (water). So that the gas can be properly dissolved in the water. When gas is enter from the bottom and water spray from the top in the column of the scrubber,so gas and water act in the opposite direction of a flow that is, countercurrent flow is caused. Due to which every time a molecule of gas comes in contact with a new molecule of water, due to which the gas gets dissolved well in water.
