10 days in to a divorce and internally i am an emotional wreck. Just waiting for my iddah to get over so i could get busy with life. Work, go to the gym and divert my mind. Yes, well put. I also divorced at a young age (no children from previous marriage), I did re-marry later on and Alhamdolillah I was happy to be able to have a new start. My ex was cruel in many ways and there was no option except to leave as he was unwilling to change. I left 12 years ago but it did affect me for many years, specially when going through the process of trying to find a new spouse. Allahu Alim--He chooses different tests for different people. I think Sr Maya's message of seeking help from the Almighty makes it clear she passed that test.

Unfortunately the arab society judges a divorced a woman and tends to assume its her fault that the marriage ended. I don't believe that we can blame gender over the other when it comes to divorce each relationship is different therefore so are the reasons why it ends.

Assata Sherrill I think you misunderstood the message, the aim of the video was to share tips on how i overcame this divorce. Unfortunately the arab society judges a divorced a woman and tends to assume its her fault that the marriage ended. I don't believe that we can blame gender over the other when it comes to divorce each relationship is different therefore so are the reasons why it ends.
