Indian Railways has a glorious history of more than 150 Years. In this
period the Railways have passed through many developmental stages. The
Buildings, Bridges, Wagons and other artifacts of the yesteryears are a testimony for
the entrepreneurship, skills and innovativeness of the Railway men. The Artifacts of
heritage value need to be preserved for posterity. This can be done in a focused
    manner through development of museums.
Indian railways already has a National rail museum at Delhi which
serves the purpose well. However, Regional Rail Museums are essentially required
due to space constraints at National Rail Museum. Accordingly RRM was established
in March 2002. Its development is watched with keen interest by Railway Board, It
has to serve a model for the other RRM s being planned at Kolkata and Pune.
Proposals were made for setting up of Regional Rail Museum (RRM) in
Chennai as early as 1993 - 94 based on Secy. Railway Board's D.O. Letter No. 93/
Regional museum/ AB PT.11 Dt. 17.08.93 addressed to General Manager ICF ,
followed by various meetings by Director Rail Museum with CE/ ICF. Accordingly
Regional Rail Museum was set up and opened by the then Rly Minister . Shri Nitish
Kumar on 31.03.2002. The museum was opened to Public from 16.04.2002.
The Regional Rail Museum (RRM) is located at the North West Side of ICF Furnishing
division and adjacent to New Avadi Road at an area of 6.25 acres. At the center, it
has a built up area of 360 square meters having a Photo Gallery and a Model
Section. Out door exhibits are located on the front side of the built up area amidst of
    landscape.

The reason why I am taking a video of this place is because the place says this, I am taking this video so that you all can come and see it. If I research this place and come to tell you before, 10 minutes is not enough for me, this video will take almost 1 hour.
