When i was young my dad used to drive in volvo 240's.(Drove in them as well for years)
While my brothers and me sat on the back seat of the volvo 240, we had to listen over and over again to the same The Doors tape.
Later in 2012, on a holiday, my girl friend found those Volvo's. It appeared the owner of this collection died several years before.
No one seemed to care anymore.
After three years in 2015 i returned to this place, with Martintb.
It was sad to see what people did to those cars.

A lot of rare, or at least unusual Volvos there. I've never seen a 145 ambulance before, or a 240/260 limousine. I knew they existed but I don't know of any in the UK. Such a shame, it looked like a lot of these were very savable but now it looks like they're largely too far gone. That P1800E looked really solid but now it's pretty much just a bare shell. And I'm sure I saw the remains of a 2-door Amazon 123GT with the original steering wheel and dashboard still in place but wrecked. Very sad, very sad indeed...
that 262c looked so solid in 2012. Later all windows smashed. I paid almost 300 Euros just for the driver window! Crazy. This man just wasted such nice and pricey piece of car history.

Jag körde in en runda på den gården idag men ville inte gå ensam där så jag stannade vid vägkanten satt och kollade in från bilen och kommer det två yngre killar i luvtröja och går in på gården,det tog inte lång stund innan dom började hoppa på ett biltak,synd att man var ensam😡

Det går inte köpa loss och kanske rädda nån bil? Hade varit roligt att rädda dom istället för att folk bara ska dit och förstöra dom
with a good sorting of the parts available there, a minimum of investment on new consumable parts, a new paint, it's very possible to build more than a car as good as a new one

I bet some of those engine would still start just clean em up and change the oil and service them and some may even start if you dont have the key take the ignition barrel out of the back of the key slot and with a flat head screwdriver turn the ignition on using the ignition barrel. :)
Was it my imagination or did the badge on the back of the white, round headlight 242 with the stripes say 242GT?...
Would've been fun fixing them...

They got vandalized.
The place is visible from a passing road, so even if the youtube videos don't help (there are more than one...) the place is probably visited by shitty people anyways, youtube or not... hence the accelerated decay. Some people can't let "abandoned" stuff be without destroying it. :/

The death of Volvo began when the they introduced the 142... The 554, 122, and the 1800 were the best cars they ever produced.
