I went to Turkey quite a few years ago (Hisaronu) I was walking through the shopping area and a man that worked for the store ws standing on the street outside shouting out prices to get the tourists into the store. He told me the golden virgina (I smoked at the time) was a certain price. I went in to purchase and another guy was serving. He got the tobacco out from a draw and asked for five times the price that the first guy said. When I declined he asked mehow much I would be willing to pay. I told him I wanted the price I was told by the member of staff outside. I was shocked at what happened next, but the guy inside the store ran around the counter put me in an arm lock and through me out of the store! There was another mature couple in the store at the time and they said it was disgusting what shop worker did. They to were also told one price but the asked for a lot higher price when they went inside. I have never being back to this country, that experience really upset me!
Wow ..haggling is the way it works, although I hate it and would prefer prices on things. Iv lived here 25 years and never been attacked by a shop owner so I'd imagine you were unlucky...I hope you called the police .
Food and drinks ...well just about everything went through the roof..but...if you have foreign currency you are doing good and good value..its now approx 80 to 120tl a beer as an eg
Hello mate just a quick question and hopefully you can help me please. I am coming to olu Deniz in July however I only booked plane ticket and no hotel. Do you think when I land I will find anywhere to stay ?
@@mrfethiyeootandabootturkey1888 hello thanks for the reply mate. I mean would there not be a bed and breakfast little places because it don’t have to be a hotel like 5 star or anything, it can be like them small rooms? I hope you understand many thanks
You could be lucky but difficult then. It's mostly hotels down in Oludeniz. You maybe are best to try Hisaronu or Ovacik and yes you will get a hotel apart room. But I'm thinking not exactly in Oludeniz and if a room was available you will pay top dollar
The noise here was absolutely deafening when we got out of our taxi a few weeks ago. Seems the bars think the louder the music the more appealing it’ll be- errrr nope!😖 They seem to compete to have the loudest music -& most of them have the same playlist. Bars with music a great- but when there’s a terrace to sit on- you want to be able to talk a bit at least. In Spain the music is behind doors, so it’s loud and fun inside but you can sit outside and still hear it without leaving with a headache! Makes me wonder if they’ve guessed at what they think tourists want. I like a good time and music but this was way too much.
My opinion...Türkiye doesn't have an international party culture. They have all the requirements and the infrastructure, but something would have to be done differently for that. Establish a spring break (Europe) or something, so that young people from England, Nolland and Co. arrive. Without her, it's not a party, just lived Culture.
Liked the video, shame you didn't give the high and lower roads a visit, not everyone likes it too noisy and busy ,plus people may like to see different bars and restaurants, Thanks.
I just didn't have much time but yes there are other areas also Fez end, The Bar end and Oh Yes bar end but alot for what I was trying to be under a 20 minutes video. Next time though for sure. THANKS for watching Steven appreciated
