James is one of those guys that I need to watch perform. The thing that strikes me about this performance is his eyes. Several times they literally lose focus sort of the way a blind person's eyes look. I think he allows himself to get so absorbed in the experience that he's singing about that he momentarily blips out of the real world.
2006 on the radio i asked someone what the hell is this song. Because first i didn't liked it, but it did pass like 2 or 3 times a day so i started to like it. That was a hit. His voice is unique.
Try James' other emtionally stunning tracks and you'll see this one ranks probably just behind his "Monsters" epic. He really is the master. I think it has something to do with James's service in the British army where I imagine you test your emtions to the deepest indeed he even wrote a classic "Carry you Home" which excellently describes the effect of losing a comrade. Try it, trust me it's worth it and you'll never be the same.
