I've often heard Brooke say that people ask her how they can always be so cheery and happy . If you had all those animals to love on and be loved by you'd be content too. I would think taking care of those animals may be a chore but you can tell it's not really a chore but an act of love, makes it much more easier, Im sure. Love watching this family!!

I googled emu wing and from what I read they are used for balance when running. The claw is basically useless. There was a lot of information but I am sure you have already read it. I love your channel... it brings me joy every day!

I was travelling from Adelaide to Broken Hill in New South Wales early one morning some years ago, in the Australian outback, and watched in total disbelief as four emus herded a huge flock of sheep. They were moving at about 30 mph and doing it for the pure fun of it. It was the most hysterically funny thing to see. Apparently it's quite common, although the sheep weren't too thrilled about it.

For reference, I am 62 years old and I grew up in the Phoenix, AZ area. As you were pointing out each chicken by name, I was reminded of a children’s TV show that was popular when I was in kindergarten. It was called Romper Room. The hostess of the show would pick up a round magic hand mirror like object and pretend to look through it, out into the home audience and she would say, “I see Mary and Bobbie and Andy. There’s George and harry, Hi Ann and Mindy. There is Carol and Billy.” You get the idea. I have not thought of Romper Room in over 50 years, but you were naming those chickens just like she named children. I think that the line up that I watched as a child was as Romper Room, followed by Captain Kangaroo by then Sesame Street. In the afternoon we had Mister Rogers’s neighborhood followed by Wallace and Ladmo. I can’t believe how many memories that triggered from so long ago. I just asked Siri about it and Romper Room was syndicated and played all the USA and in most parts of Great Britain. So other people may also think of the magic mirror when you name off the chickens.

You could try Picking her[the broody hen] up after dark and setting her on a roost, it might break her fever. In the summer we'd wet [not soaked, just wet] the hen down to break her fever. usually worked. I Enjoy your new adventures!

Jason I’m so happy that you saw my message about Nuggets tail feathers!! I even did a little Jason dance when I saw the title of this video!! He would definitely do it for a coyote or anything he viewed as a threat. As a kid 30+ years ago, we visited a local wildlife sanctuary and were riding the little train around the park. A few cassowary’s ( very very aggressive bird the size of an emu ) broke out and started chasing customers. They started chasing the train and managed to derail us. If it wasn’t for the emus doing their thing people would definitely have died. That’s where my love for these big dinosaurs came from 🥰 I’m so happy to share our Australian animals super powers with you all. I even have a pet rainbow lorikeet who thinks he’s a little velociraptor 😅
Now that is one happy farm, which makes it the best to visit 3 times a week (wish it could be more, but I know it's hard work as it is.)😉 Be well all.🙂
Fascinating about emus tail feathers. Reminded me that when peacocks display, not in mating but as a warning, their tail feathers rattle. In India where the blue peacocks originate, they do have a lot of predators in the wild. 🤔

Nugget was hand raised, just not by Mary Carl and crew. Nugget joined the Cog Squad several months old.

I always heard animals eat more in the winter because digestion increases their body temperature. Not sure if it is fact.

So sweet how Nugget goes to sleep with you rubbing him. Mildred is getting more used to being touched. It must be wonderful having all those babies to pet but it is a big responsibility. Moody is so sweet. Such a great addition.
For reference, I am 62 years old and I grew up in the Phoenix, AZ area. As you were pointing out each chicken by name, I was reminded of a children’s TV show that was popular when I was in kindergarten. It was called Romper Room. The hostess of the show would pick up a round magic hand mirror like object and pretend to look through it, out into the home audience and she would say, “I see Mary and Bobbie and Andy. There’s George and harry, Hi Ann and Mindy. There is Carol and Billy.” You get the idea. I have not thought of Romper Room in over 50 years, but you were naming those chickens just like she named children. I think that the line up that I watched as a child was as Romper Room, followed by Captain Kangaroo by then Sesame Street. In the afternoon we had Mister Rogers’s neighborhood followed by Wallace and Ladmo. I can’t believe how many memories that triggered from so long ago.
I just asked Siri about it and Romper Room was syndicated and played all the USA and in most parts of Great Britain. So other people may also think of the magic mirror when you name off the chickens.
Thank you for being who you are. I enjoy the family so much. I just wish you could get the needed trusses for your house so that can be started. The animal part of the family warms my heart. You could try Picking her[the broody hen] up after dark and setting her on a roost, it might break her fever. In the summer we'd wet [not soaked, just wet] the hen down to break her fever. usually worked. I Enjoy your new adventures!

Jason I’m so happy that you saw my message about Nuggets tail feathers!! I even did a little Jason dance when I saw the title of this video!! He would definitely do it for a coyote or anything he viewed as a threat. As a kid 30+ years ago, we visited a local wildlife sanctuary and were riding the little train around the park. A few cassowary’s ( very very aggressive bird the size of an emu ) broke out and started chasing customers. They started chasing the train and managed to derail us. If it wasn’t for the emus doing their thing people would definitely have died. That’s where my love for these big dinosaurs came from 🥰 I’m so happy to share our Australian animals super powers with you all. I even have a pet rainbow lorikeet who thinks he’s a little velociraptor 😅

Fascinating about emus tail feathers. Reminded me that when peacocks display, not in mating but as a warning, their tail feathers rattle. In India where the blue peacocks originate, they do have a lot of predators in the wild. 🤔
