Well, for so many years I've been doing handstand push ups with bad form, and I can tell You, that it literally destroyed my right shoulder. Never went past straddle planche even though at my best time, with bad form was able to do over 30 Handstand push ups. I wish somebody told me that over 12 years ago when I was starting with calisthenics. Usually shoulder injuries will hunt You for Your entire life, so in handstand FORM is EVERYTHING. Keep up with the great work my Friend.
Good explanation of how the handstand push-up strengthens your ability to do a planche. I'm on day 4 on your course for handstand push-ups and front lever.
Hi.Thank you very much for all that stuff that you do for us,we really appreciate it.But,I have problem with doing a handstand. If I pull myself all the way up I start feeling pain in my left elbow.Which exercises can I use do avoid this pain and why this pain occurs. If you want please make a video about it.It won't only be helpful for me, but also to the whole audience that is struggling with that pain.Thank you very much!))
Awesome man, love this video just as much as the one-arm push up one. Good form descriptions and makes me motivated to learn and master these movements 👌
Amazing handstand push ups! I’m working on it at the moment. I do the negative handstand push ups trying to control the leaning as much as I can. I’m also still trying to improve my strength. I can’t do military press since I don’t go to the gym but I work on the parallettes and use a weight vest to increase weight
Hey Dominik. I just start doing body weight exercise. Been out of shape for many years. My only (hope you do reply) question is (since I am a beginner), which parallettes you think I will get the most beneficial, low or medium height, length matter (I prefer the long one since I thing I progress into it)? So low height (like the one you working on) or higher parallettes in your other videos?
I want to leave a note, I have a regular push up bar, but that things hurt my palms even with the foam thingy there. Plus it isn't stable to even do what you did in this video (😀 like I even can right now). Any way look forward to your reply.
Mahalo Dominik! Your videos are so awesome and helpful! When performing a floor pike push-up should the head tilt backwards at the bottom of the rep to gain more range of motion?
I would have the head in a position so I can comfortably look the floor since that's what youll5be doing in a free balance hspu.... If you want more range of motion simply elevate your hands (and feet obviously) =)
Hmm I've never heared and cared about not letting elbows go behind the wrists, but when I watch my hspu videos it happened automatically. I guess the key is to lean forward enough, and then other minor things, like this one, take care of themselves. Also, that's a good HSPU video, form is CLEAN as always with Dom ;)
@@akernam9264 that was not actually that arched. For doing 30 HSPU that's why he compromised his form imo. Otherwise he can hit the correct form as well. It happens when you are tired u can't go with correct form or when u have to hit higher reps for hypertrophy. But do it like a creepy as well 😂
i'd guess your 1RM should be something about 1,2 your bodyweight since handstand requires more balance than military press so you can't use all your strenght, some of it goes to balancing
For floor hspu even 80% is enough and you can do clean hspu reps if you have good balance in hs... Regarding deep hspu I currently military press 90kg, bodyweight 90kg and today I did 4 sets of 2 deep hspu... So yeah if you want planche and deep hspu having your bodyweight military press is a good goal. =)
@@DominikSky1 Yeah man same! 70kg x 5 at 15 years old is... really really good but at 15, he is not even an adult yet... So I think he's taking something too. What do you believe just randomly the heaviest pull up they can do, 80kg? Or something.
Hey Dominik! First off amazing video this is a skill I’ve been trying to learn for the past year. Second I’ve been following you for 3 years now ever since I started Calisthenics. Thank you for all your hard work and advice you’ve given. It’s helped me more than you can imagine 😁

Thanks bro... Can you do it deeper and full range of motion
Just did it today in my session =) follow me on Instagram... All my daily training sessions are there
I saw an ig video about when doing hspu against the wall that the end your feet should come off the wall so you can get that 45 deg.
haw many can you do Handstand Push Up? at a time.

The beta handstand push-up is going down until your shoulders touch your hands.
What about the Holding push up HS next to those exercises

Dominik, what % of your bodyweight do you need to lift in overhead press to have sufficient strength for handstand pushups?
