Decent vocals, but it could use some stuttering.

Fuck, that was too good of a joke for no one to know where it came from.
I bet deadmau5 would love some shuttering :^)

Still love the video of Deadmau5 discovering Chris. Such a legendary moment for both artists
That video is what just brought me here :D
@@Merrick117 ok, i gotta get ahold of this fuckin guy right fuckin now.
Yeah it's pretty fucking wholesome
That's the worst part, though. It was all up to a coin flip. He almost didn't even give it a listen.
@@redjack2629 That's a horrible way to look at things. That's the BEST part of this all. Out of everything that could have happened, many trillions of trillions of possibilities led up to that moment. Joel could have been looking at anything else, he could have been playing a game, he could have not seen the post, but he did... The odds of it happening this way are so miniscule it's probably not even calculate-able, and yet it still happened. Not only was the guy talented, not only did he grab his attention at the perfect time, but he knew EXACTLY what the assignment was AND nailed it.
I just discovered this track because of an Instagram page on history.

I just saw that video lol that's why I'm at this video now
Ezra Rubenstein Yeah, that's a pretty awesome story. Everyone who likes this song, who hasn't seen that video where he first hears these vocals, should definitely watch it.

If you want your album/song to be more popular, you must invent a story. Don't be stupid and easy to foolish. If you watch the video carefully when he so called "found" the artist, you will notice some act especially from his wife or girlfriend.
She's acting because she doesn't have the same instinct for music that he does and she hasn't read the story. She just wants to be excited with him.
story behind this song:
"The Veldt" was inspired by the 1950 short sci fi story of the same name by Ray Bradbury.
While streaming, Deadmau5 gets a random message from a 17 year old Chris James. The message included vocals and lyrics to an unreleased song. Deadmau5 reacted to the message on stream and was so impressed by James' vocals he decided to sign James and confirmed that the official release of the song would include James' vocals. Deadmau5 was particularly impressed with the lyrical references to the Ray Bradbury story.
The song's production was captured on a live streaming session via Deadmau5's official website. The song was eventually released and has become one Deadmau5's most popular songs.
He was 26, not 17.
I am so damn glad Mau5 and Chris found each other and made a BEAUTIFUL track :D Love it! Bless the internet!

GHFear yes, I thought the same

and we are back
In the short story "veldt" by ray Bradbury, the parents discuss about a specific room in the house (the nursery) a holographic room that projects images of the imagination (like the holodeck from startreck), when the childrens parents discuss the issues of the room being a problem to their behavior.
Threatening to shut the nursery off permentaly, the kids throw a fit. After their tantrum, the children ask their dad to go back into the room. Moments later they scream for their parents, the parents come rushing in, with the kids nowhere to be found, they look to the door, the kids shut and lock the parents in the nursery, surrounded by lions the mother and father get mauled, (the white glasses)
"The world that the children made" comes from the African setting the children imagined for the room to generate.
A short summary of an already short story......You're doing God's work..

I used to listen to this song as a kid and I’ve spent about 4 years looking for this song again, today was my lucky day.
An old time favourite
You should try reading the short story now
Me- just discovered this song and browsing through the comments and sees your comment. Goes back to see when video was published. 8 YEARS AGO!? damn.
That has to be the best feeling in the world, to finally find the song you're looking for. After hours of googling "song that goes dun du du dun duu dudu dun".
I’m still looking for a song I heard in my dads car 20 years ago and can not find it to save my life I remember a very small line from the song but can’t find anything from it😔
This intro has been my alarm clock for 11 years. I wake up happy ever time my alarm goes off.
It's like your theme song now.
I woke up to a Duke Dumont song for years too, and looking back, things were better back then. Maybe I should try again.
Shut up, no way this has been out for 11 years, wth where’d the time go 😩
Happy Technology!!!
I tried making a song I loved my alarm. Now I hate that song and can’t listen to it without feeling cranky.
Banger song I love it
Fun fact. This vocal came out in the Twitter. And the video of Joel discovering it is awesome.
Such a happy song.. for such a dark sinister story. *Foot note to all parents: You might want to hold off on those deluxe holodeck plans you have for your kids' nursery!
Matt Carrell nice XD
at last a sensible comment. People saying that knowing the story that song is based on makes it more "epic". Some people use words they don't even know what they mean.
@@conatchaThis reminds me of another song. You might know "Hey Ya" by Outkast. It sounds like a cheery and happy song that you can dance to, similar to this song, expect when you disect the lyrics, it's has a dark story behind it, like this song. This is one of the few songs that makes me cry. I first heard it when I was 25 and living on my own in Florida (moved from Virginia) to be a Flight instructor at a small airport. While I lived there I had met a beautiful waitress that was also into deadmau5 and we hung out together in downtown Orlando clubbing. Sadly, she passed away a few years ago when I left Florida to be an airline pilot. She was in rehab. The song is real tearjerker for me...

+TheVeR01 I never understood the ending , Enlighten me please.
+Crazy Pug Spoiler alert...
In the story The Veldt by Ray Bradbury, the children use "the nursery" which is a VR environment like the Holodeck in Star Trek. They create a world of their choosing with their thoughts, and interact with it as they please. They can command it to be anything they want, and do anything they please. The parents observe it, and hope the nursery experience will help them deal with fears and paranoia.
However, the children love the nursery and all their other convenient robots in the house that make it to where they do nothing in life by see, hear and smell things. The parents come to the conclusion that this life of luxury is toxic, and preventing the children from actually living life. The parents arrange for them to leave, and tell the kids they are closing the nursery.
Before leaving the house, the children are allowed to go back into the nursery once more. The parents come into it to get the children, but can't find them, all they see is the African plain. The door slams shut behind them and locks them inside. The lions move towards the parents, and kill them. Then the kids go back into the nursery and continue living this virtual life. They were so in love with the idea of convenience that they chose to kill their parents to retain the lifestyle. The end of the video depicts the final scene with father's glasses and the trail of blood leading to the lion, and the children watching the door close as they choose to stay in this virtual world instead of reality.

ikr ... interesting story btw
I mean hate him or love him you can't say Deadmau5 doesn't interact with his fans. Saw this video the other day with a kid who sent him a disposable camera and an album to sign; not only does he sign the album, he actually took pictures for him, and then sent them both back to the fan. That's serious fan service. And then you find out that somebody through the power of the Internet and computers not only recorded lyrics for him, but was able to send them to him and collabo as a result. That's fucking beautiful, man.
Ahhh grade 6, bless your soul Ms. Veronica. Wouldn't have found this masterpiece without you

Ray Bradbury was a magnificent human being.
I believe it more a nod to the actual story, the children are in a holodeck left alone and end up creating a fairly fucked up place. It entertains the idea that eventually technology will raise our kids more than we do, which could cause problems for the kids

The story behind how this tune got made is infinitely more beautiful than this track could ever be.
I never realized this song was based off of the first story in "The illustrated man" that is just so fucking satisfying. My life is complete.
"An official music video was posted to Zimmerman's official RUclips page on June 25, 2012. It was produced by Qudos Animations.[13]
As with the song, the video is based on the short story "The Veldt" by Ray Bradbury. It shows two children entering "The Nursery", and running through a savannah landscape with lions and vultures eating bloody dead remains. They stop, and the boy begins to climb up a small mountain. He then suddenly finds his sister standing on the edge of a precipice. He then approaches her and, after pushing her off the edge, jumps off. They slide down the ledge and meet at the ground. The video ends with the two children holding hands as a lion walks off in the distance, leaving behind broken glasses and a trail of blood, presumably of their parents. The video is dedicated to Bradbury, who died weeks before the video was published. The video's art style, which makes heavy use of dark silhouettes and puppet-like animation, bears a strong resemblance to the independent video game Limbo."

This song takes my way back when I was a kid listening to it on radio 5fm. I didn't realize how beautiful it was till now 😭😭 🇿🇦
Ikrrr the short story made it way better and I’m still coming back to this
That video of Deadmau5 discovering the vocals was AMAZING marketing. Take notes, THIS is how you market shit right.
The lyrics so perfectly go with the title of this song
Vocals so perfect...and his voice tone is warm as vintage top singer ...really beautiful. And match perfectly this beautiful sound

this track is gorgeous, and it will slay at half-time. and then again for liquid drum and bass. thank you< 3
Can't help but get a haunting feeling with this tune after learning what the lyrics mean.
"The Veldt" is a short story written by Ray Bradbury that was published originally as "The World the Children Made" in the September 23, 1950 :)
Its about a family who live in an automated house called "The Happylife Home," filled with machines that do everything for them from cooking meals, to clothing them, to rocking them to sleep.
To kids baiting their parents to get eaten by lions....
I LOVE this song. Me and my family always listened to it in the car. I was in LOVE with this song literally. I sang it all the time, i knew it by HEART, i dreamed about this song, me with this beautiful masterpiece on the background. LOVE IT! I adore DeadMou5. This song has also a BEAUTIFUL message (e.g. the world that the children made, in love with the way we are)
I wish this song will have the fame it deserves.
you know this song is based on a short story called "the veldt" by Ray Bradbury which is all about kids who use the "world that the children made" in order to murder their parents.
right?
@@skylar5790 I'm super confused why people find that a good story, like this kids baited their parents to get eaten by lions... what's so nice about that?-
This reminds me of the game Limbo (concept, art) I loved that game so much, I was facing a really dark and depressing moment in my life and that game was my escape from it, the art of that game helped me feel the pain I was going through peacefully. This song and music video reminds me of that wonderful game.
Thats funny. It reminds me of limbo too. And i'm playing it right now.
this song is just a legend
Beautiful tribute to Ray, cheers deadmau5, you never cease to amaze :)
Expert tip, when the Ray Bradbury story was originally published in 1950, the title was "The World the Children Made" (the main refrain of this song. Only later in 1951, when the story was republished in "The Illustrated Man", was the story renamed to "The Veldt". So... Chris James cleverly included an easter egg into the lyrics.
Just discovered this song from an IG/FB reel
2021 y aún está padrísimo escucharla 😍
