I am travelling to India next week. It's a choir excursion, so it's mostly all planned rehearsals and tours, so we won't be out and about on our own very much. But I am still very nervous, because I have ADHD and get overstimulated and overwhelmed very easily by new things and I tend to feel more calm when I know as much as possible about what is to come, so that everything I'll see, hear and learn will be easier to place and order in my brain and I can enjoy it more. So naturally, I now have about 93840 tabs open and I'm trying to write a little script, a profile of the place I'm going to. BUT IT IS ALL SO VAST AND COMPLEX! I want to venture into every single thing I don't know yet. Indus culture, the languages, the architecture, the ancient city states, food, general history. I feel like I should have started 3 months ago with this. :D

India has 2 names, India is the exonym and Bharat is the endonym. We Indians call India India in English but in all mother tongues we call it as Bharat. Even there is an epic named Mahabharat which is a combination of two words Maha means Great and Bharat means India together meaning Great India.

@@slowknife2873 A Pakistani spotted with his ass burnt. Now you have come here to claim India as Gangadesh and Pakistan as India, due to Indus flowing through it. Indos is the name of India, the indus valley which is part of India. Now some invaders came and cut that piece of land off the Indian subcontinent and call it Pakistan.

0:37 Indus valley lies in Pakistan "mostly" and the entire Indus river flows from Kashmir (the internationally recognized disputed region) to Pakistan, only states of India that were part of Indus valley border Pakistan so does it seem fair to give the identity of Indus valley to indians just because some percentage of Indus lands exists in India ?
3:02 early forms of what resembles chess have been excavated both in Harappa in Punjab and Mohenjo-Daro in Sindh and both of these regions are in Pakistan, this video is suppose to be about modern day India region, talk about it
3:28 you should've mentioned the treatment of lowe.r castes Hindus, they were treated wor.st than sl.aves and even now in this day and age around India, upper caste Hindus treat lower caste Hindus as slave.s, lo.wer caste women get ra.p ed by upper caste Hindus all the time and the police never does anything to help the victims due to their castes, upper caste Hindus literally lynch and hu.miliate lower caste Hindus who even dare to drink the water from same well as the upper caste Hindus do
Oh yes 4:38 here begins the second great period of south Asian history after Indus valley era, especially mughals, mughals were the greatest thing that happened to south asia, without mughals south asia was nothing but a rotten land with extreme pagan practices, mughals helped lower caste Hindus get a voice, they banned Hindus from burning widows alive (a Common practice among hindus of those times) because of them south Asia got it's greatest dishes from biriyani to karahi, their promotion of Urdu was just a cherry on the top and who can forget the most beautiful buildings they made from Taj mahal to badshahi mosque (tho this still doesn't come anywhere near the beauty of mosques of Uzbekistan)
9:26 of course Hindus had wanted to rule entire south Asia and take revenge from minority Muslims for all the invasions of muslims and Muslim rule but a great man named Muhammad Ali jinnah alongside his companions crushed the dreams of hindus into pieces! 1947 riots were caused by Hindus and Sikhs of India, they started ki lling and rapi.g Muslims who were trying to leave India because they ha.ted the fact that Muslims have destroyed their wet dreams of a united India and when Pakistani muslims saw the trains come from India carrying dead bodies of Muslims they started to attack the Hindus and Sikhs who were trying to leave Pakistan! Jammu massacre is a perfect example of all this mess

@Rowan Murphy excuse you, I live on the Indus lands and my city is located right next to Indus river so who tf are you to tell me Indus civilization isn't mine to claim ? Pakistans modern borders were created 75 years ago just like India's but that doesn't erase the fact that this is the same region where Indus valley was located at and pakistanis are it's inheritors, not you 5 foot tall gangu kalu's lol

@Rowan Murphy Oh please poojeet, 10 years ago violent vegetarians use to talk about how Muslims of the subcontinent are native to the land and that their ancestors were Hindus and what not but now suddenly when Pakistanis have started claiming their history you wanna tell us we don't belong here ? Pss off, and whatever Pakistan was created as, it covers the Indus region and that's what that matters, modern day indian nationalists specifically the Hindus nationalists don't even call their country India they call it bharat, they've always called their region Bharat while we've called our homeland Sindhu, it's the Europeans who created this blunder regarding the name india
