In concept this Roblox update sounds like it makes it safer for kids, and for adults to only chat with other adults. However, a lot of people are either just using their parent's ID to be put in the 21+ age group, or when they scan their face it often puts people into the incorrect age group. The update has already rolled out as of now and I am in the 21+ age group, yet have still heard multiple kids in the voice chat or text chat. This makes it so that a child in the 21+ age group can ONLY talk with adults, and if a creepy adult with bad intentions gets an account in a younger age group, they know that they are ONLY chatting with children. I really think it just makes it easier for predatory people to target kids specifically and also compromises their personal information by giving it to Roblox and the AI identification company they are partnered with.
People are also selling accounts now 💔💔
This is so true but at least theyre trying to do something. there’s a lot of downsides however, Tho im not sure what would be a better solution to preventing preds except for hiring more moderators but the scale is just way too big. they could hire a thousand more moderators and that probably wouldn’t be enough to moderate over 5 billion accounts

@Chezburga222 I think they could actually make an effort to ban these people, so much that's so obvious gets swept under the rug. I feel like they don't really have much moderators at all, most of it is done by AI, and it doesn't ever care about the real issues. I definitely think there could be better options. Like old Roblox used to have mods or admins playing in games running around all the time, I don't believe they are present in games at all anymore.
