It’s hard for me to do it but sometimes you can see when there’s a 90 degree coming. In this video they did a course change and I was trying to look at the mileage on the Stella to know when to go straight. If you see towards the end of the video they ran a bunch on caution tape across the old turnoff so it made it really easy.
With a good suspension setup and fine tuning it for optimal, Rebound, How stiff and loose. A 125cc Chinese piece of crap can do great on these roads with a proper suspension. The Yamaha 450 offers a significant amount of stability and control it giver the operator. Also Yamaha's are known as the most comfortable ride and brand of leading dirt bike companies. I raced Glen Helen on my KTM sx 450. At the time I had 3 other bikes that I could've used. KTM's are the meanest as far as Raw power and top speed goes. Yamaha are great brand all round either for beginners or professionals.
How did you get through that section on gas? My 450FX ran out while prerunning and I have the bigger tank. I was also carrying extra in my pack, but still needed more to get to Valley T. By the last day of prerunning, my fuel pump was toast too
I was prerunning on a KTM 500 with 3.2 gal tank and stopped at El Coyote Rancho for one gallon just to make sure I made it. I rode the same section last year and ran out while by myself in the rain and it was miserable haha. For the race we hit Baja Pits and they usually aren’t more than 50 miles apart.
I’ve only seen one 2 Stroke race while down there. It was a Yamaha and the team raced the whole series and won their class. I think the hardest part would be getting the bike setup with good lights. If you raced the 250, 400 or 500 you wouldn’t need a light for to much of the race if everything went good.
That is Stella device. Its basically a tracker so they know if you hit all the Virtual Checkpoints, it can let you know of dangers, if a faster vehicle is coming (never works haha) and they can also see if you’ve stopped moving to see if you need medical attention.
the amber light covers are the secret weapon

2020 Baja 1000 race course was Meling ranch, el coyote Meling ranch, Simpson ranch to Leandro Valle didn’t pass by mike sky ranch
You are right! I said up by Mikes Sky Ranch. We were 5 miles from there so I would say that’s pretty close!
Fellow Yamaha rider but even better cause he is riding it in the Baja 1000
The Next part of the track was the cool one jajaja
I wonder if the rider can read the instruments and the terrain at the same time.

How did this bike handle out there? I always see a lot of crf450x's so nice to see a Yamaha
The Yamaha is awesome. It’s really stable at speed and has really good suspension. Never had a serious issue until this race with the fuel pump.

No offense but i think there should be tony stark helmets
Any advise , something I've always been interestedin trying, I own a 2018 250xcw, any two stokes racing , I only see 4 strokes

Mainly because of gas mileage 2 strokes would need more frequent pit stops
what is the digital screen box with the red green blue buttons on the right side of the bars?
