Now this is motorsports!! 😂😂 I've always argued with people that rally is the hardest motorsport out there, I know F1 is up there but at least drivers can get somewhat use to the high speeds and rapid reaction times. With rally you honestly don't know what to expect, it is different every time. There is no getting use to it 😂😂

In F1 defense, the wheel-to-wheel competition also makes stuff highly unpredictable and reaction times need to be spot on. But indeed there's a dimension of discomfort and chaos which makes Rally a totally unique sport.
yeah, hobbyrally is even better, more rollovers and you never expect what happens. ive seen many rollovers here in finland

This is just the Kenyan round of the European rally championship.
The real safari rally back in the day, the factory works teams had extra rally cars for local drivers who had a huge advantage due to local knowledge.

This is the toughest motorsports in the toughest terrain in the world. Most cars don't even come out of the race. Toyota is the only race car that has finished the race with its inventive suspension systems.
Hyundai, Ford, Citroën, Honda and many other auto brands have a long way to go to get the limelight in the world toughest terrain! All said, all the best to all rally teams for the next Safari rally champions happening in Kenya till 2025.

Brings back great memories of the Safari Rally of old. Back when Drivers were tough. They really should bring it back. But the last two Safari Rallies have been incredible.

2022 Safari Rally, it will be hard to predict the top 3. Saturday 25th will be wet and dry dust.
This modern Safari is nothing compared to the real one.

Sadari Rally. Integral part of our childhood. It was serious business with scorecards provided in the middle of the newspaper. Tuned to the radio or TV 24x7 to make sure scorecard was up to date then comparing with friends the next day. Good memories are made of this!!

Old Acropolis was the toughest without a doubt
I doubt it was as tough as the old Kenyan Safari Rally

It’s like rock crawling, mud bogging, and Baja but being done in something with the clearance of your average daily driver…the absolute B A L L S of these guys.
This rally was more fun when they held it during the rainy season, around Easter.

I think Rally is not a walk in the park. You get to meet different obstacles altogether and you got to prove your prowess. Its even tougher in Kenya.
Don't pretend this any where near Old Safari..its a joke to 1980/90 versions. But, hey, nice to see it back on the Calendar in a miniscule form

@@growthcountry The old rally used to run the gauntlet. All types of weather, roads and all over the country from the cold, foggy slopes of Mt. Kenya to the wet and mud of the great Rift Valle,y the searing heat and dust of the plains in Tsavo to the rocky hills of Taita Taveta down to the Mombasa coast and back to Nairobi. Four days of absolute car breaking adventure with night stages thrown in just for fun in fog and rain and in open traffic. Now it's just tightly managed, closed super stages in a loop. Not the same thing anymore.

Calling this a 'proper' Safari Rally is like running only 4 hours at Le Mans and claiming it's the same challenge. It's not. That's not the fault of anyone competing as it aligns with the WRC template the FIA is after (and it's better having Kenya on the schedule than not), but please don't try to claim it's the genuine successor of the event up to 2002.

@@growthcountry the entire length is what one leg used to run. No helicopter spotters, specialist local drivers, no snorkels (the worst omission!), and a short compact route.

Three days later, Toyota takes 1-2-3-4.........Kenya is the graveyard for Hyundai's. Feel sorry for their drivers though, Team Toyota did their homework weeks before coming here.

Neuville or Tänak will win they are smartest drivers there, Rowanperra is too green to orush, yes he has talen and also better car but he dont control his emotions and actions. Neuville and Tänak know how to handle challences. Propably Tänak will win He is cold as a fish when he is on "stage".
